A BRIT man charged with gunning down two women during a six-hour rampage in Atlanta has died in jail.

Olaolukitan Adon Abel, 26, was found unresponsive in his cell yesterday evening, just weeks after he was charged for two murders and suspected of a third.

Officials tried to save Adon Abel, but he was later pronounced dead, the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office said.

A cause of death was not given, but cops said there were no suspicious circumstances.

The Brit was behind bars after being charged with the murders of two women who were shot earlier this month.

One of the women was also stabbed as the suspect rampaged through the streets of Atlanta.

Cops suspected Adon Abel of a third murder but he had not yet been charged for that attack at the time of his death.

The three killings took place within hours on April 13.

Prianna Weathers, 31, was fatally shot around 1am outside a Checkers restaurant in Decatur, Atlanta.

Around an hour later, Tony Matthews, 48, was shot outside a supermarket just 12 miles away.

He died later in hospital of his injuries.

Police previously said the victim was homeless, but family later clarified that he was not.

Then, before 7am that same morning, Lauren Bullis, 40, was shot and stabbed to death while walking her dog in nearby Panthersville.

Lauren was a mum who worked Department of Homeland Security.

Her death triggered outrage at the highest levels of government.

Homeland Security Secretary Markwayne Mullin said: “These acts of pure evil have devastated our department and my prayers are with the families of the victims.”

A department spokesperson described Lauren as “a bright spot for so many of the DHS community”.

They added: “She brought warmth, kindness, and a genuine sense of care to her colleagues each day.”

Fellow DHS auditor Ashley Toillion said: “You couldn’t meet her and not be her friend.

“She was just the nicest, sweetest, most encouraging person I’ve ever met.”

Adon Abel was a former US Navy officer who received US citizenship in 2022.

He last served in the Helicopter Maritime Strike Squadron in Coronado, California.

Cops said they think at least one of the victims, the man shot outside the restaurant, was targeted at random.

They are still investigating if the two women killed were killed at random in the rampage.

The suspect‘s housemates said he had stormed out of their home that night after getting into an an intense argument over the air conditioning.

Housemate Angela Britton said he kept the house “freezing”, and that they had rowed before, “but that time was a real big argument”.

Another housemate Lakisha Mckinzie said she had been afraid of Adon Abel ever since he groped her the month before.
