First airing a decade ago, the British series is touching down on Netflix US for the first time.

Ten years after airing, the short-lived reimagining of Jekyll and Hyde from creator Charlie Higson might finally find the audience it deserves when it lands on Netflix in a last-minute scheduled arrival in the US in February 2026.
We can confirm that Jekyll and Hyde will be available to stream starting Sunday, February 1st, 2026, but only in the United States for now. To date, this is the first time the series has been available to stream on Netflix in the United States.
This is the latest major licensing pickup from ITV Studios, with Broadchurch recently returning to the catalog. Netflix also partners with the company on Original series from across Europe.
Created by Charlie Higson (The Fast Show), the series isn’t a direct adaptation of Robert Louis Stevenson’s novella; instead, it’s a sequel set in the 1930s, blending multiple different genres and picking up solid reviews at the time of its original broadcast.
The story follows Dr. Robert Jekyll, the grandson of the original doctor. Growing up in Ceylon (modern-day Sri Lanka), Robert is unaware of his family’s curse until he is summoned to London to claim his inheritance. He quickly discovers that he transforms into a super-powered (and very dangerous) alter ego in moments of stress.

When this series first premiered on ITV in the UK, it famously sparked hundreds of complaints. Why? Because the network aired it at 6:30 PM, the show, which features shapeshifters, secret organizations, and plenty of violence, was deemed too scary for the audience at that time slot and even led to a ruling that it breached the broadcasting code. Outside of ITV, the series also aired on CBC in Canada.
Sadly, the series wasn’t renewed for season 2, and the creator confirmed the cancellation on social media in early 2016.
Who is in Jekyll and Hyde?
The cast is headlined by Tom Bateman (Behind Her Eyes, Death on the Nile), who does double duty as the charming, naive Robert and the brooding, chaotic Hyde.
He is supported by the legendary Richard E. Grant (Loki, Saltburn), who chews the scenery as the head of British Intelligence. The cast also includes Natalie Gumede (Titans) and Donald Sumpter (Game of Thrones).
