MGM+ has officially unveiled the first trailer for its upcoming drama series Robin Hood — a highly anticipated project starring Sean Bean and Connie Nielsen. From the moment the trailer dropped, fans have been buzzing with excitement over a darker, more epic reimagining of the legendary outlaw.

The 10-part series is described as a large-scale epic adventure, retelling the familiar story of the rogue hero who dares to challenge those in power, stealing from the rich to help the poor. At its heart is the tumultuous love story between Robin and Marian — a bold, courageous romance that remains central to the legend, according to the show’s official synopsis.

The narrative follows Rob as he rises from an ordinary man to the leader of a rebellious band of outlaws, while Marian secretly infiltrates the royal court, where power and conspiracy reign. Together, they confront the corruption of the crown, fighting to restore justice and peace to a land crushed by oppression. The cast includes Jack Patten as Rob, Lauren McQueen as Marian, Sean Bean as the Sheriff of Nottingham, Lydia Peckham as Priscilla of Nottingham, Steven Waddington as the Earl of Huntingdon, and Connie Nielsen as Queen Eleanor of Aquitaine.

The trailer sets the story in 12th-century England, where Robert of Locksley lives under the brutal domination of Norman rule. Tragedy strikes when Rob’s father is executed by the Sheriff of Nottingham, turning grief into rebellion. Rob soon gathers a group of society’s outcasts, forming a fierce resistance determined to overthrow tyranny.

Following the trailer’s release, social media reactions poured in, with viewers praising its epic scope and dark tone. Many described the series as “visually stunning” and said they “can’t wait for it to premiere.”

Robin Hood will premiere on Sunday, November 2, with two episodes, followed by weekly releases leading up to the season finale on Sunday, December 28, 2025.
