Netflix viewers say one documentary film is so good they’ve binged it multiple times.
The true crime doc tells a haunting yet deeply moving story of identity, loss, and painful revelations.
The audience’s reactions have been overwhelmingly intense, with one calling it ‘one of the most haunting documentaries I’ve ever seen.’
Another writes: “My heart is absolutely broke.”
In agreement, a third adds: “Absolutely heartbreaking.”
“Such an interesting documentary,” comments a fourth.
Somebody else says: “My jaw dropped.”
Critics, too, have had much to say about this documentary film.

On Rotten Tomatoes, the doc boasts a 97% approval rating from critics, who’ve praised its compelling narrative and sensitive handling of complex themes.
Tomris Laffly of RogerEbert.com commended director Ed Perkins for treating the story with the respect and care it deserves.
Similarly, The Guardian described the documentary as ‘slickly pieced together like a psychological thriller,’ emphasizing its engaging and emotionally resonant storytelling.
The Netflix-produced documentary tells the real-life story of twin brothers Alex and Marcus Lewis.
When Alex loses his memory in a motorcycle accident at the age of 18, he relies on his twin Marcus to help him piece his identity back together.
However, Marcus chooses to shield Alex from the horrific truth of their childhood abuse, instead constructing a fabricated past to protect him.
The doc unfolds in three powerful acts, with the first detailing Alex’s struggle to rediscover himself, the second revealing Marcus’ painful dilemma, and the third showcasing an emotionally charged confrontation between the brothers as the full extent of their past is finally laid bare.

One of the most unforgettable moments in Tell Me Who I Am comes towards the end when Marcus finally tells Alex the entire truth after decades of secrecy.
The scene’s raw emotion and vulnerability left many viewers in tears.
In an interview with Decider, the brothers opened up about the ‘incredible gift’ the documentary has been.
“We’ve achieved closure beyond anything I could have imagined with each other by making this movie,” Alex said.
“That’s an incredible gift the film has given us.”
