Liputan6.com, Jakarta – Jordan Jones, a former college and indoor football player, passed away at the age of 28 after Jones was shot while attempting to break up a fight outside a bar in Acworth, Georgia.
The tragic incident occurred early Saturday morning, March 7, 2026, at approximately 2:42 a.m. local time, outside the Saddle Bar in Acworth, Georgia.
Jones, who was working as a security guard at the time, attempted to mediate a dispute involving a woman being attacked by the suspect.
The suspect in the shooting, Daniel Di Vonne Parsons, 25, has been arrested and charged with several serious crimes, including felony murder, aggravated assault, and aggravated battery.
Parsons is currently being held in the Cobb County Jail without bail while the investigation into this case continues.

According to reports, Jones, who was working as a security guard, witnessed a woman being attacked by suspect Daniel Di Vonne Parsons.
He bravely intervened to break up the fight.After Jones managed to de-escalate the situation and walk away from the altercation, Parsons allegedly drew a firearm.
Without warning, Parsons shot Jones, causing serious injuries. Jones was then rushed to Kennestone Hospital in Marietta, Georgia, for medical attention.
However, despite intensive care, Jordan Jones was pronounced dead from his injuries.
Acworth police quickly identified and arrested Daniel Di Vonne Parsons, who now faces serious charges, including premeditated murder, aggravated assault, and aggravated battery.

Jordan Jones, a native of Lawrenceville, Georgia, began his football career at Mountain View High School, where he later returned as a substitute teacher and coach.
Jones’ football career flourished as he continued his education at the University of West Alabama.
There, he played linebacker and defensive end, posting impressive statistics.
During his college career, Jordan Jones amassed 211 tackles, 17 sacks, five forced fumbles, and one interception, demonstrating his dominance on the field.
After completing his college education, Jones continued his professional career in the Indoor Football League (IFL).
He played for the Tulsa Oilers and the San Antonio Gunslingers, expanding his football experience and reach.
Jordan Jones was also scheduled to play for Michigan Arsenal of the Arena Football One League next season.
