Netflix has just added an iconic comedy film from the 1980s starring two of Hollywood’s biggest stars.
Despite currently holding a lacklustre 43 percent score on Rotten Tomatoes, the film has endured as a beloved and hilarious cult classic thanks to the remarkable chemistry between its two leads as well as the film’s outlandish premise.
Helmed by Ghostbusters director Ivan Reitman, Twins stars Arnold Schwarzenegger and Danny DeVito as fraternal twin brothers Julius and Vincent, who were separated at birth.
Originally the product of an experiment to create the perfect human, athletic Julius is shipped off to be raised by academics while his secret brother Vincent becomes a streetwise lone wolf living in Los Angeles.
They reconnect when, at the age of 35, Julius is finally told about his brother and finds Vincent on the run from loan sharks.

Available on Netflix from Wednesday, 14th January, cinephiles have encouraged subscribers to ignore the critics’ scores and strap in for a bizarre, laugh-out-loud comedy that became one of the biggest surprise hits of the 1980s.
One 10/10 IMDb review called Twins “a fantastic film that you can watch over and over”.
They continued: “Twins is a cinematic treat with a universal, classic, and timeless appeal. Arnold Schwarzenegger and Danny DeVito are at their best here. In fact, all parties concerned pull together for a harmonious production that is very entertaining and holds up to repeated viewings.
“I guarantee it will put a smile on your face and put you in a good mood.”

Someone else raved: “One of my fav films, Arnold & Danny are hysterical.
“I’ve watched this many times over the years. Truly a great comedy with the unlikely pairing of DeVito and Schwarzenegger.”
And a third user gushed: “My new favourite movie! This is honestly one of the best films I have seen in a while!”
Plenty of Twins fans can also be found on Letterboxd, where one profile awarded it five stars and said: “An absolute classic comedy and has to be one of my favourite movies ever.
“The chemistry between Schwarzenegger and Danny Devito is shockingly pitch perfect. The writing is hilarious and at just the right times can be really heartwarming. What can I say? It’s Twins. If you haven’t seen it you need to. You won’t regret it.”

Another fan simply called it a “comedic masterwork”, while adding the long-delayed sequel, Triplets, “can’t come soon enough”. Unfortunately, the project, which was slated to star Eddie Murphy as another long-lost brother, was quietly shelved after the death of director Reitman.
A final viewer called Twins “in all honesty, one of the most heartwarming and charming films ever made.”
So, what are you waiting for? Make sure Twins jumps to the top of your Netflix watchlist for this weekend.
