Vonn didn’t just show up, she stunned the world.

Her campaign, however, took a terrifying turn when she suffered a horror crash on the slopes, a moment that had fans holding their breath.

Despite the tumble, Vonn said the memories will live with her forever and that she disagreed with those who said she should have given her spot to someone else.

Writing from a hospital bed, the 41-year-old reflected on the whirlwind of the season and the Games themselves, posting a heartfelt message on social media.

Vonn didn’t shy away from addressing the critics either.

She added, “One thing that stung was when people said I was selfish and should give my Olympic spot to someone else.

“So… I just wanted to recap my season for all the haters out there that don’t understand what it means to earn your spot, and on a more positive note, to just reflect…”

Her words have been met with an outpouring of support from fans and fellow athletes alike, praising Vonn for her resilience, courage, and determination.
