Two bodies, believed to be children, have been found following a house fire at a property on the outskirts of the Blue Mountains.
Emergency services were called to Lieutenant Bowen Rd at Bowen Mountain just after 2am on Monday, where they found the property engulfed in flames.
A man, believed to be a parent, and four children managed to escape the burning home and were taken to the Nepean Hospital in Penrith for smoke inhalation and minor burns.
However two people, previously reported to be children, were unaccounted for.
Fire crews managed to get the blaze under control about 3.30am.
Following a search of the home police confirmed two bodies, believed to be the missing children, were found.
They have not been formally identified.

“Officers attached to Hawkesbury Police Area Command have established a crime scene,” NSW Police said.
The blaze completely gutted the home, with its walls completely burnt and roof collapsing.
At this stage the cause of the fire remains unclear.
