A manhunt has entered its third day for a fugitive who was let out on bail just weeks before he allegedly murdered three people, including his heavily pregnant ex-girlfriend.

As the search for Julian Ingram continues, police have called on any witnesses to come forward if they can help with the investigation.

An arrest warrant was issued on Friday for the 37-year-old, who is wanted after three people – including his ex-partner Sophie Quinn – were fatally shot in Lake Cargelligo on Thursday afternoon.

Ms Quinn, 25, and her friend John Harris, 32, were found dead with gunshot wounds inside a car.

It is understood Ms Quinn had a previous relationship with Mr Ingram with police treating the deaths as an alleged domestic violence incident.

Sophie’s aunt Nerida Quinn was also shot dead the same day and 19-year-old Kaleb McQueen was seriously injured.

Ingram had previously been charged in relation to an alleged offence on November 12.

Court documents show that Ms Quinn had an apprehended domestic violence order (ADVO) taken out against him in December.

Ingram was charged with stalking or intimidating intending to cause physical harm and assault.

He pleaded not guilty to the charges and was due to face Lake Cargelligo Local Court on February 3.

On Saturday, NSW Police released images and a description of the vehicle the council worker was last seen driving.

It’s a dual cab Ford Ranger utility, with NSW registration DM-07-GZ. It has a Lachlan Shire Council magnet in front of the driver’s door.

The ute also has an emergency orange light bar on the roof and the utility’s tray may contain work tools and a silver toolbox.

NSW Police Assistant Commissioner Andy Holland told reporters in the town in the state’s Central West on Saturday that the intensive search involving up to 100 officers had so far been unsuccessful.

Police haven’t ruled out the theory that Ingram could be receiving assistance to remain on the run, he confirmed.

“That’s one of the avenues of our investigation,” Assistant Commissioner Holland said.

“As we said before, Mr Ingram has worked in the area for a long time.

“He was known to a lot of people in the area, and he’s well known among the community.

“It is possible he is seeking help from people he knows, and we’re making contact with known associates, trying to cut down those possibilities.

“But I can’t confirm whether he has access to anyone else, but there is the possibility that people are assisting him to obviously avoid police apprehension.”

He said the town was no longer in lockdown, but warned locals to be alert.

“They need to use extreme caution with the knowledge in the back of their mind that the (alleged) offender is still on the loose, he is still armed, we believe, and there is the possibility they could come across him,” he said.

Two properties were searched overnight, and Assistant Commission Holland said the search was widening.

“The search area is very broad,” he said.

“Obviously we are in the rural country districts.

“Again we get information about where locations are and it may be a property that consists of 4 or 500 hectares.”

Ms Quinn, 25, and her friend John Harris, 32, were found with gunshot wounds inside a car.

Both were declared dead at the scene.

A short time later, reports emerged of shots being fired on Walker St, where police found the body of Ms Quinn’s aunt Nerida Quinn, 50 and Kaleb Macqueen, 19, in a driveway.

Nerida died at the scene and the teenager was transported to hospital in a serious but stable condition.

Assistant Commissioner Holland had previously confirmed the shooting was likely domestic violence-related.
