An 11-year-old boy struck by a car and killed while riding his scooter in Mandurah has been remembered as a “beloved son” by his devastated family.
The family of Michael Judge have paid tribute and expressed their devastation in an online obituary after he was fatally injured when he was struck by a blue Mazda sedan outside Lakeside Villas on Mandurah Terrace on April 6.
Michael is understood to have been visiting his friend who was staying at the villas. The tragedy happened when he rode his scooter down the steep driveway before crossing the busy Mandurah road.
The tribute, published in The West Australian, described Michael as a “beloved son” to his parents and an “amazing brother” to three siblings.
“We were so lucky to share 11 wonderful years with you,” the obituary read.
“You will be deeply missed and always loved.”
Michael’s mother also penned a tribute as part of an online fundraiser on Tuesday, describing Michael as “my son and best friend 4 life”.
The 11-year-old was rushed by St John WA to Peel Health Campus, but later died from his critical injuries.
Off-duty nurse Nicole Jones previously said she tried to save Michael’s life after driving past the graphic scene.
“I had just finished a nursing shift and went to pick up my son when I drove by and saw a lot of people around not sure what to do,” she said.

“He (the driver) was in a lot of shock and very upset. It didn’t seem like, from what I’d heard, that he could have avoided it.”
Ms Jones said she hoped the tragic ordeal would serve as a tragic reminder about road safety after having to deal with multiple scooter previously.
“Just thoughts and prayers for mum and dad. I’m sorry I couldn’t have done more,” she said.
WA Police initially said the boy was riding an e-scooter before they clarified that he was on a push scooter.
Major crash investigators have not laid charges against the 46-year-old male driver of the car, who stopped at the scene to assist.
