Rumors are flying about current Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth’s supposed plans to run for governor of Tennessee.
On July 29, NBC reported that Hegseth has “privately discussed the idea of running for political office.” While the Pentagon’s chief spokesman Sean Parnell denied any idea of Hegseth vying for the governorship in Tennessee, the Secretary of Defense could run for office should he choose to leave his current post.
Hegseth spent years in Tennessee before heading to Washington, D.C. He lives in Middle Tennessee with his wife, Jenny, and their seven children. He moved to Sumner County, just outside of Nashville, according to his personal website, which has been taken offline.
