Fox News abruptly interrupted their coverage of an ongoing Supreme Court case in Maine to deliver breaking news that the case against former FBI director James Comey is being dismissed.

On Monday, Nov. 24, Fox News took a break from their discussion to provide the latest update in the case against FBI Director James Comey and New York Attorney General Letitia James.

Delivering the breaking news update, a Fox News host announced, “Leslie forgive me but we have some breaking news, we’ll come right back – a Fox News alert, the case against former FBI Director James Comey is getting dismissed.”

She further explained the reason for the dismissal of the former federal law enforcement officer’s case, stating, “A judge ruling that the appointment of interim US attorney Lindsey Halligan violated the Constitution.”

The host continued to elaborate, “The judge also criticized the DOJ for allowing an FBI agent who viewed Comey’s privileged materials to testify to the grand jury. Now the judge also tossed the case against Letitia James.”

This development follows after Halligan, President Donald Trump’s handpicked U.S. attorney for the Eastern District of Virginia, sought the indictment of Comey and James. The former FBI was in court facing charges of making a false statement to Congress and obstructing a congressional investigation.

The charges originated from his 2020 testimony regarding the FBI’s probe into connections between the 2016 Trump campaign and Russia, which was subsequently labeled “Russiagate.”

The president had previously commented on the controversy, stating that witnessing Comey’s arrest on live television “would not bother me.”

Following the surprising announcement, viewers flocked to X, formerly Twitter, expressing their opinions on the ruling and mocking the overly dramatic manner in which Fox presented the news.

One user posted, “lol, of course they’re dismissed. All Trump knows how to do is gaslight, push propaganda and make false accusations. I knew this wasn’t gonna go anywhere the day it was announced. MAGA needs to start realizing… each of his accusations goes nowhere. They never come to fruition. It’s always political theater and he lies to you every single time.”

Another detractor commented, “The BEST part of this administration is how they humiliate themselves on the daily! They never tire of putting the stupid on full display. What a disgrace to this nation.”

Meanwhile, a third individual quipped, “Prayers up for the Fox audience.” Another user noted, “I’m shocked there wasn’t mass wailing by the hosts..!”.

Another person humorously remarked, “Did they play the sad trombone music afterwards?” While someone else inquired, “Why are these guys acting like John Lennon got shot?”
