Underwood has been linked with the NFL since she’s sung the theme song of NBC‘s Sunday Night Football since 2013.

With the next Super Bowl taking place on NBC, plenty of fans have called for Underwood to perform at the big game’s halftime show.

“We need a country music halftime show featuring Carrie Underwood and friends,” one wrote.

“I want a Carrie Underwood Super Bowl halftime,” another commented.

And fans can read between the lines of Underwood’s previous admission about the potential of performing at the Super Bowl.

She had a four-word message for fans begging her to perform over it being “a lot of pressure”.

Last August, the eight-time Grammy winner Underwood said on Sirius XM, “I mean, that’s a lot of pressure.

“It would have to be just the right circumstances.”

Underwood has performed at the Super Bowl in the past.

She had the honor of singing the National Anthem in 2010.

But being the main act for the Super Bowl is a different demon.

And Underwood has had a lot on her plate in 2025.

In January, she was invited to President Donald Trump‘s inauguration to sign America the Beautiful.

However, Underwood suffered a technical error during the performance as there were several seconds of awkward silence when the music for America the Beautiful was supposed to play.

The 42-year-old then had to sing out the tune a cappella.

Underwood also worked her first season as a judge on American Idol.

However, she experienced a bumby rookie year and The U.S. Sun exclusive reportedly she may not return next season.
