The couple met for the first time when Islanders in the original villa headed to Casa Amor where six new US bombshells were waiting.

Yamen and Whitney immediately hit it off and have only had eyes for one another since.

But some Love Island fans aren’t convinced and have accused the American hunk of having “fake feelings” for the British Islander.

Whitney also came under fire from fans over some advice she gave to Scott and they accused her of being a “fake friend” to Leanne .

It was after the Welshman talked to her about his previous love triangle with Belle and Leanne to which Whitney advised him: “I personally feel like it would be leaning towards Belle.”

Fans were in uproar as she is Leanne’s good friend in the villa.

In response to this, Whitney’s mum joined her other daughter Liz on Whitney’s podcast, which her sister is running while she is on All Stars.

During the chat she addressed the backlash towards her daughter.

Love Island viewers think fan-favourite is faking feelings after awkward moment

“First, mean girl. She’s my daughter. She’s my main girl. You need to be close to Whitney. I know she’s a very nice girl,” her mum said.

“But the hate train is crazy. I can never imagine waking up one day to log into an account to project nasty things. I’m Whitney’s mum. It’s not nice at all.”

Whitney’s sister Liz then turned the chat to Yamen, and asked her mum if she liked him.

Nodding her approval, she replied: “Look at that body. Whitney is melting!”

Despite their burgeoning romance, some viewers are convinced Yamen is “faking his feelings for Whitney.”

It came after a very awkward moment between them during a date on Tuesday night’s episode.

Before they headed back to the villa, Whitney and Yamen enjoyed a smooch as he called her a “young lady” before putting his hands around her waist and pulling her towards him.

As he pulled away, he let out a satisfied “mmm” sound which has left fans wondering if he’s being genuine or not.

Former Love Island star Tyrique Hyde took to his Twitch reaction page with series 11’s Omar Nyame and criticised: “What the f**k is that? Americans in the chat, what is that?”

Fans shared the same sentiment as they flocked to social media to share their reactions to the awkward moment.

One viewer commented: “That kiss was awks af.”

Another person said: “Have been noticing that about him. I haven’t seen him kiss her with passion.”

Somebody else suggested: “American here!! I have been saying it from day one… he does NOT like her!! I suspect he only coupled up with her because he knows she’s popular.”
