Kim Kardashian has broken two of her self-imposed dating rules by embarking on a romantic relationship with Lewis Hamilton. The reality TV star and the F1 legend had been friends for years before recently elevating their connection to something more.

The pair made their first public outing as a couple at the Super Bowl in February, just ahead of the new F1 season. As little as six months ago, Kardashian maintained she was contentedly single following high-profile marriages and relationships with a succession of sportsmen and music industry figures, including former NBA star Kris Humphries and rapper Kanye West. Kardashian, 45, told the Call Her Daddy podcast she had moved through her various dating phases and that it “would have to be someone super special” for her to contemplate entering into a new relationship.

The mother of four admitted she would struggle to blend her life with another family, as her sister, Kourtney, and musician husband, Travis Barker, have.

She said: “I’ve lived my life one way for a long time and I think it’s hard to mesh your life with someone. Courtney and Travis came in with kids [from previous relationships]… it’s an adjustment when you have blended families.

“I don’t know if I have the energy or whether I’ve met the right person that I would want to blend my family with.” Intriguingly, she ruled out becoming involved with a musician or sportsman.

When asked whether she would date a rapper or athlete again, she replied: “Neither. We’re going like lawyers and longevity scientists who would give me all their secrets.”

Kardashian has gone against her rules on both counts. Hamilton, 41, isn’t just a seven-time world champion; he is also passionate about music, playing the piano and guitar in his spare time.

She also opened up about what she contributes to a relationship, saying: “I think I’m a really good team player and communicate really well. I’m a very supportive person. I think I’m a really good partner.”

While both lead hectic lives, this month could afford the couple additional time to develop their romance, as Hamilton will not return to F1 action until the Miami Grand Prix in early May, following the cancellation of the Saudi Arabia and Bahrain Grand Prix due to the ongoing conflict in the Middle East.

After a challenging debut season with Ferrari, which prompted widespread speculation over whether he might walk away from the sport, Hamilton has made an encouraging start to 2026, posting finishes of fourth, third and sixth across the opening three Grands Prix.
