ITV has reportedly renewed a programme despite itĀ attracting more than 11,000 complaints to Ofcom over allegationsĀ of bullying.
Love Island:Ā All Stars on ITV2, presented byĀ Maya Jama, sparked controversy following two episodes shown in February, which viewers claimed contained bullying behaviour.
Ofcom received 2,249 complaints regarding the episode transmitted on 12 February. Tensions erupted when Islander Lucinda Stafford made remarks about fellow contestants during her recoupling speech, which some felt should have concentrated exclusively on her connection with Sean Stone.
his led to a fiery confrontation between Lucinda and Belle Hassan. That same evening, Jessy Potts challenged Lucinda, claiming she was “putting on a baby voice” and “ragebaiting”.
Subsequently, a further 8,594 complaints were submitted concerning the episode shown on 13 February, all centring on purported bullying conduct displayed during the broadcast.

The complaints weren’t the sole challenge for the programme, as victors Samie Elishi and Ciaran Davies, who secured 35 per cent of the public vote, split after just 15 days.
They became the quickest ever separation in the programme’s history, surpassing the previous record held by 2019’s Amber Gill and Greg O’Shea, who remained together for five weeks following their victory.
Nevertheless, despite the various controversies and the short-lived romance of the winners, it has been claimed that the show will be back for another series next year.
Producers have already started planning the logistics for the 2027 series, which will bring back familiar faces from past editions, reportsĀ the Express.

Maya Jama reportedly has yet to sign for the new series(Image: Getty)
While preparations are well underway for the programme, presenter Maya Jama, who also sits on the judging panel of ITV’sĀ The Masked Singer, has yet to put pen to paper. Sources suggest she will finalise her contract later this year after negotiations are completed.
BristolLive has approachedĀ ITVĀ for comment.
Filming typically takes place in January at the Ludus Magnus estate in Franschhoek, South Africa. The opulent villa boasts several swimming pools, a fitness centre, and an updated interior design.
The South African location is chosen for the winter series due to its pleasant temperatures during January.
Love Island All Stars ranks among the broadcaster’s most popular programmes and attracts the largest 16-34 demographic of any show on a commercial channel. The 2026 series racked up more than 80 million streams.
Love Island All Stars is available to watch on ITVX.
