Meghan Markle has been warned that she needs to “stop being bitter” as she is reportedly “fuming” over the fact that the Princess of Wales is more popular in the UK

Meghan Markle is reportedly “fuming” as Princess Kate is more adored by the British public, says a former friend of Meghan’s.

The 44-year-old Duchess of Sussex, who stepped down from Royal duties with Prince Harry in 2020, now resides in California with their six-year-old son Archie and four-year-old daughter Lilibet.

Kate Middleton, 43, is widely recognized as a beloved member of the Royal Family. Meanwhile, various surveys over time, including YouGov’s ongoing favorability tracker, indicate that Meghan’s popularity in her husband’s homeland has taken a hit following the Sussexes’ decision to withdraw from their Royal responsibilities.

Now, according to model-turned-TV and radio host Lizzie Cundy, Meghan is grappling with the reality that Kate is more popular than her in the UK.

Lizzie, who was once close to Meghan and even described the Duchess as “really fun, really sweet,” first met Meghan at a London charity event in 2013.

The 57-year-old has now cautioned her former friend that she needs a change of attitude.

As reported by the Daily Mail, Lizzie alleged, “She’s fuming about how the public loves Kate. She needs to stop being bitter, stop being angry, and stop being ‘poor me’.”

She also suggested that, regarding her Netflix series, With Love, Meghan, which recently premiered its second season, the ex-working Royal should “stop pretending” and “be who she is”.

According to a YouGov poll from August 2025 on the current popularity of the Royal Family, only 20% held a favorable opinion of Meghan.

In comparison, 71% held a positive opinion of Kate, who ranked second to her husband in the poll.

Earlier this year, Lizzie had already spoken of Meghan, claiming that she was “desperate to be liked” and wanted to “trump the royals with anything she does”.
