Gia Fleur and Scott McCristal started strong on Married At First Sight Australia, but have been struggling in recent weeks.
It all started when Gia dramatically left the Commitment Ceremony on March 15, after the screenshots she sent to Juliette with Bec’s messages to Alissa were announced.
After returning to the experiment, she and Scott worked through things, but they then packed their bags and left the apartment block on Tuesday, March 17, before returning at the Dinner Party.
Throughout the week, Scott struggled to share his feelings with his wife, fearing that he’d be shut down. While he’s said that he’s been positive throughout the experience, the drama throughout the season has weighed on him.
“I adore, and I am really falling for Gia, but this whole experiment has been very tough in regards to the drama side of things,” he shared before the couple went to the Commitment Ceremony on March 22.
“Tonight, I am nervous to see the experts, because this is something that I find is a problem, and I am going to address it.”

What happened at the sixth Commitment Ceremony?
Gia explained that she initially chose to leave the previous Commitment Ceremony, saying that it was “unfair” that she was reprimanded for sending the screenshots, even though Bec said horrific things.
Despite this, John said her actions were “very high school”, which the mother-of-one agreed with.
When asked if Scott was considered before her dramatic exit, she said she wanted to leave. Even though he knew that she wouldn’t leave entirely, Scott said the lack of communication was frustrating, and then opened up about his struggles.
“My energy dropped… I’m just trying to be positive, and it’s hard sometimes,” he said.
Gia also said that Feedback Week was challenging, and she did not want to argue with whoever she was matched with; hence, she refused to do the task.
When the experts reminded her that the experiment required everyone to get out of their comfort zones, she grew frustrated.

“It’s always about everything but our relationship. God, how many more times am I going to get attacked?” she snapped.
She also found Stella and Filip’s suggestions in their letter, which included a social media detox, removing herself from any MAFS group chats and withholding from intimacy for 10 days, as a personal attack.
Scott suggested that she try to let go of things more quickly, so they wouldn’t bother her as much, before he opened up about the toll the drama had had on him.
He admitted that he asked his wife to remove herself from the drama during the experiment, and that he didn’t want her to behave that way after the show.
Despite insisting that she wouldn’t do that, and he didn’t know her well enough, he reiterated that he wouldn’t tolerate it.
Mel Schilling then stepped in and said that he only said that because that’s what he saw during the experiment, but Gia complained to Chris that she was being “slammed” again.
Scott disagreed, but Gia brushed him off and tearily said she wanted their session to finish.
After John asked if they felt secure in their relationship, and they both said yes, they both wrote stay.
Gia said she looked forward to the Home Stays and wanted to focus on the future.

Why did Gia and Scott leave MAFS?
After a short exit, the controversial couple were back for the dinner party on March 18, with Gia revealing that the pressures of Feedback Week had led to her walking out.
While fans had believed they had quit, Scott confirmed that they had simply gone on a “weekend getaway” to help Gia get over the struggles of the week.
“I can see the difference in you from being away from the experiment,” Scott told her.
Gia admitted the weekend away helped her and Scott’s relationship, and they opened up to the group about why they decided to temporarily leave.
She faced questioning from Danny about why she hadn’t shown up for their one-to-one chat for Feedback Week, before her walkout.
Gia insisted it had nothing to do with their previous conflict, with Danny accusing her of lying, but said it was due to her own struggles that week.
“We had a really tough week in our relationship to be honest,” Gia explained. “I was packing my bags and trying to leave. It was just really hard.”
“She wanted to leave and she tried to leave,” Scott explained, before Gia added, “He was like ‘no, you can’t’.”
However, New Idea understands that their return will not last long, as Gia begged Scott to quit the Channel Nine show just days later.

“We’re leaving the experiment early,” Gia shared in the footage.
“We have a week to go, but we can’t do it anymore. We’re struggling, so we are packing all our stuff, and we’re going to tell them that we’re leaving this morning.”
Scott agreed that they had “no need” to be there anymore, before Gia candidly spoke about her “mental health” struggles that had led to her exit.
“We’ve been here so long, and the pressure is starting to ruin our relationship,” she added.
Though they appeared to leave together, text messages also purported to show Gia begging Scott to leave with her, after his admission that he tried to get her to stay.
“If you came here for love and we found it, why are you not leaving with me?” she asked.
Scott allegedly replied, “Can you please come out? I do care, and I did come here for love, babe. I just wanted you to understand that what we are doing isn’t hard now.
“If you want to go, then we won’t do this thing today. Please just come out so I can hug you, please.”
Their relationship did not last long after the cameras stopped rolling, and Gia has already moved on with somebody new.

What happened during Feedback Week?
Mother-of-one Gia has been struggling with the experiment in recent days and refused to take part in a Feedback Week task where she was paired with her rival, Danny Hewitt.
And it appeared that things got too much for her on Tuesday, March 17, as scenes showed Gia breaking down in tears on the balcony before leaving the apartment altogether.
Speaking to the camera, Scott revealed that Gia wanted to leave the experiment and said he would go with her if she ultimately decided to quit the Channel Nine show.
Scott could be heard saying to Gia, “If we just get through this…” before she replied, “No, I want to get the f*** out of here, babe. I’m not coming back.”

Despite trying to convince her to stay, the couple were then shown with their bags packed, leaving the apartment building, with no explanation for their exit.
A shocked Alissa Fay saw the couple leaving the apartment block, with the episode ending on a cliffhanger, leaving viewers in suspense about whether they will be back.
Insiders told us that Gia and Scott will briefly return to the show before once again quitting the experiment next week in a second, and final, walkout.
Our exclusive behind-the-scenes footage shows the moment they ultimately pack their bags and quit the show, and the conversation which led to their departure.

Tensions reached breaking point during Feedback Week. (Credit: Channel Nine )
Feedback Week saw the couples separated and individually speak to other contestants for advice about their relationships, but the task wasn’t positive for everyone.
In fact, Gia refused to take part in the latest challenge after speculating that she would be matched up with one of her rivals, Bec Zacharia or Danny Hewitt.
She shut herself in a room and argued that it wouldn’t be “productive” for her to go and speak with either of them, insisting it would end up in a row.
Gia was correct in her suspicions that she would be matched with Danny, and adamantly refused to entertain the task.

After Gia failed to turn up, Danny said he would have rather spoken to a “brick wall” than to Gia anyway.
Danny has accused Gia of “lying” about him, and his bride, Bec, has become Gia’s arch-rival, resulting in many dinner party blow-ups, and the two couples have vowed to stay out of each other’s way.
Though Scott did show up for the Feedback Week task, being paired up with Stella, it also added further hurdles to his and Gia’s relationship as his co-star had some choice words.
Scott shared his concern that Gia had said she was “out” if he didn’t return her declaration of love soon, with Stella arguing that he wasn’t giving her any reason to doubt him.
“She’s seeking that drama to fulfil her internal need,” Stella said.
Scott was left with doubts over the conversation, and Gia was left unimpressed after hearing what Stella had to say about their relationship.
So, are the couple still together?

What happened at the fifth Commitment Ceremony?
Despite the toll of the drama at the couples retreat, Gia insisted that she and Scott were closer than ever.
However, things got heated when Danny fired back at them for not saying hello at the dinner party and for Gia’s past comments.
“I didn’t come here for high school s***, I came here to find the love of my life, and that’s it,” Gia insisted.
Doubling down on not being interested in the drama, Gia said nothing could break them, and he wanted him to say “I love you” first.
They admitted that they’d started talking about the future, and Gia had even quoted movers to take her things to the Gold Coast. Scott even said he started looking for a bigger place.
Despite writing stay, things took a turn when Juliette revealed that Gia sent her the screenshots with Bec’s comments about the other brides.

After she didn’t back Juliette, Gia said she didn’t want the messages to be exposed. Then, Juliette abruptly left the experiment.
Keen to check on Juliette, despite saying she didn’t want drama, Gia also said she needed to use the bathroom.
When a producer told her that her friend bolted, Gia also decided that she needed to leave.
“No, I’m out,” she insisted, venting that the others always focused on the drama, and not on her relationship with Scott.
Meanwhile, her husband remained oblivious and decided to look for her after Joel returned without Juliette.
In pure disbelief with her disappearance, he said some of the brides and their drama “interfered” with their relationship.
“You can’t leave like that,” he said in frustration. “We’re falling for each other. I’m not going to sit here without her; I’m going to get my wife.”

What happened at the fourth Commitment Ceremony?
Even though they worked through the issues they faced during Friends and Family Week, Gia admitted that she was still rattled by it.
Being compared to an ex-partner was something she experienced before, with the single mother admitting that it made her feel like she “wasn’t good enough”.
Then it came to the photos Scott had on his phone.
Despite taking accountability and saying that they worked through everything, expert John Aiken was not convinced.
When pressed, Gia admitted that she was still “deeply hurt” by his initially refusing to delete the images.
“I feel like Scott is kind of grazing over it. For me, it was very hard. He came to the realisation too late for me,” she shared.
This came as a shock to the business owner, who admitted that he had never checked in with partners after fights.
Despite this, he said he was “all in” and praised her for the way she raised her daughter.
They both wrote stay.

A major breakthrough
Despite their recent rough patch, and Gia’s abrupt exit, the couple has achieved a new milestone in the relationship.
Scott has met Gia’s daughter.
“She just came up , scared me from behind, and then I turned around and gave her the biggest hug and it brought a tear to my eye,” he shared in a confessional.
Not only that, but her daughter has also provided her seal of approval.
It was a major step for the controversial bride, who said she wanted to find a father figure for her daughter.
“I think Scott and I are doing really well, and the final puzzle was him meeting my daughter. I just felt like it was the right time, it was a really special moment.”

Friends and Family Week
After getting matching tattoos for their one-month anniversary and making it through a dramatic Dinner Party, they seemed rock-solid.
Until now.
It all came crashing down when Gia packed her bags and said she was “done” with the experiment after Scott refused to delete a photo of an ex-partner.
At the time, he insisted he did nothing wrong and couldn’t see her perspective when she provided an ultimatum.
Back at the apartment after her shock departure, he admitted that he was “stubborn”, and it turned out that he had more than 500 photos, and deleted them.
When she returned the following day, Gia explained to a producer that it all came to a head when they were in a car.
At the time, she asked if she could change the song playing, and when given his passcode, saw the photo of his ex-partner in a compromising position in lingerie pop up as a memory.

Determined to meet someone loyal, she explained that she felt unimportant when he initially refused to delete them without an explanation.
“I felt so less than,” she shared, and added that she also didn’t appreciate his friend Matt making a comparison between her and his ex-partner.
Before Gia made her initial departure, the couple’s loved ones visited them to provide their perspectives and advice on their relationship.
When asked about their concerns about what could stand in their way, Gia admitted that it was important to know that Scott could be a suitable father figure for her daughter.
When it comes to having a long-distance relationship, the couple admitted that they hadn’t spoken about it much.
However, that wasn’t the question that left Gia reeling.
“Is Gia a better version than your ex?” Scott’s friend Matt asked.
“Do you want to be controversial? I’ll give it back,” she retorted. “‘Cause that’s what I’m like. I don’t think you can compare, because I would never start an OnlyFans and put that out there for eight dollars.”
As feelings around the table intensified, Gia felt frustrated that Scott did not jump in and defend her.
At the table, Scott also shared that he has cut off contact with his previous partner and removed any signs of her from his social media account.
“I feel like I’m at a dinner party being fired at,” Gia shared, but Scott disagreed, adding that he did not take his friend’s jokes seriously.
Doubling down, he felt like the questions asked were valid, but Gia disagreed.

The first Commitment Ceremony
Gia and Scott entered the first Commitment Ceremony as a united front, which pleased the experts.
For Scott, he loved their “instant connection” and said Gia’s confession about their daughter brought them closer together.
The couple also wasn’t shy to speak about their physical connection, even sharing with everyone that they were intimate every day, several times a day.
However, Gia did say it was also more than that.
“Every day we get closer, it gets better every day,” she shared.
“He ticks all my boxes, and I just feel so comfortable with him, and I feel see,n and that I can be me, I’ve never had that to be honest,” she continued to gush.
Unsurprisingly, they both wrote stay.

Revelations Week
While they started off in marital bliss, Gia was brought back to reality during Revelations Week, when she had to watch Scott’s audition tape.
“Up until now, there haven’t been any red flags; there’s been nothing that’s put me off Scott yet, so I’m not worried, take your best shot,” she said beforehand.
While Scott told Gia he didn’t have a problem with her having a daughter, she was shocked when he said he was undecided about children in his audition tape.
“I’ve got no stress, I’ve got freedom, I’ve got all the money in the world, and I can do whatever the hell I want,” he said.
When asked by a producer about his feelings of being with a woman with children, he replied, “It’s hard to say, if there’s a kid old enough, if they can look after themselves, and I don’t have to pay any more school fees, I’d probably consider it.”
The revelation made the mother of one “feel sick”, admitting that she felt lied to.

“This was my fear,” she tearfully shared with the producers, before confronting her TV groom, which confused him.
When confronted, he did not remember saying the line about the school fees.
Gia also took issue with his comments about wanting freedom, which Scott defended.
“It does not bother me,” he insisted. “I will tell you straight. If I felt uncomfortable when you told me you had a child, you would’ve known straight away that this is what I asked for.
“I would’ve said it. The fact that she’s eight years old, it makes it easier for me,” he continued.

“To be honest, I didn’t think anything could shake us, and this has. I don’t know if we totally align with what I’ve heard,” Gia then shared in a confessional.
While he tried to assure her, Scott then made another eyebrow-raising admission – that he had forgotten her daughter’s name.
Even though they patched things up, we are sure Gia will have things to say when she watches this back!
She did raise it as a red flag during the final task of the week with the other brides, but she was happy with where they were both at.

What happened at Gia and Scott’s wedding?
Gia and Scott’s wedding aired on Tuesday, February 3, but she was left devastated when a huge bombshell rocked their reception.
The bride from Victoria is a proud mother to a daughter, but had decided not to initially tell Scott at the wedding, wanting to share the news privately after the special day.
Her family all agreed to let her tell him the news in her own time, but her uncle, John, accidentally shared the news with Scott’s family.
Gia was left in tears over the turn of events and feared that Scott would walk away from their relationship because of the pressure of being a stepfather.
“Everything was great until this point, and I feel like Scott could back because of this now, and it was my secret to tell,” she said.
“Do you know how heartbreaking that was? I am trying to get the family to accept me.”
Gia then took Scott aside and told him the news, but thankfully, he was delighted.

“There’s nothing wrong with that, you’re good,” he insisted.
When asked if he’d be open to being a stepfather, he told Gia, “She’s a part of you, which is a part of me.”
Are Married At First Sight’s Gia and Scott still together?
Sadly, things are not going to last between Gia and Scott, as she recently went public with a new partner!
Initially, MAFS bride Domenica Calarco took to TikTok to drop the spoiler that Gia and Scott don’t make it to the end of the experiment.
The Daily Mail then photographed Gia with a brand new partner called Alan, confirming the status of her and Scott’s relationship.
“Navigating the new relationship has been hard, which is why I’ve done no Stan show and minimal press because I can’t keep pretending I’m with Scott when I’m so in love with Alan,” she told the publication.
“It’s hard to be fake and lie and I don’t want to upset Alan, so we’re just focusing on our real life together.”
