GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KJCT) – Amanda Overstreet’s remains were identified on Oct. 11, after her hands and head were found in a freezer in Grand Junction in January.
Overstreet was presumed to be 16 years old when she vanished in 2005. She was never declared missing.
To honor her life, the community is gathering at Long’s Park in Grand Junction on Nov. 16. The event starts at 2 pm.
Attendees will gather to light candles and do a silent prayer.
“I just kind of got it in my heart and my mind to fo this for Amanda because I feel like she deserves it. She‘s got a story to tell. She‘s more than just a head and hands,” said Natasha, the event’s organizer.
Natasha said she‘s received endless support from the community. Her goal is to make sure Amanda Overstreet’s name is never forgotten.
