Hearing screams and chaos erupt around him… a father in Queensland stopped his grocery shopping and became an unlikely hero
A shopper has put an end to a violent disruption at a Woolworths self checkout with a well executed tackle.
Queensland dad Kevin Price interrupted his weekly shop when he heard screams coming from the self checkout area on Wednesday.
A man had allegedly been assaulting an employee and three members of the public.
Dramatic footage from the Banyo supermarket shows Mr Price wrestling with the man before he manages to pull his leg up and take him to the ground.
Others were then able to rush in and help immobilise the man while they waited for police.

“I heard a commotion, a couple ladies screaming,” Mr Price told Nine News.
“I guess I had to get him off kilter and off balance, so I just did that,” he added, referring to his tackle.
Queensland police said a 25-year-old man has been charged with two counts of assaults occasioning bodily harm and one count each of acts intended to cause grievous bodily harm and serious assault person over 60, following assaults on four people.
They allege the man approached a female employee and struck her in the head with two bottles before further assaulting her while she was on the ground.

After a shopper intervened to help, the man allegedly assaulted three members of the public standing nearby.
Officers arrested the man upon arrival, and the Woolworths employee and three men were taken to Royal Brisbane Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The man’s case was mentioned before Brisbane Magistrates Court on Thursday.
In a statement to Nine, a Woolworths spokesperson said: “There’s no place for violence like this anywhere in our community, and every retail worker deserves the right to a safe workplace.
“We’d like to thank the quick-thinking actions of our store team and other customers, as well as the timely response of emergency services.”
