Prince Harry’s latest move towards King Charles has been dubbed “very embarrassing” by a TV presenter. The Duke of Sussex, 41, is apparently inviting his father King Charles to open the 2027 Invictus Games with him in Birmingham.

If the King, 77, accepts, then he will join his youngest son on the stage at the opening ceremony of the competition. It is not yet known whether Harry has sent the invite to his father. There is also nothing to suggest what Charles’s response to the invite will be. It hasn’t taken long, however, for one TV presenter to label Harry’s proposal as “embarrassing”.
Nana Akua said this is because he has “slagged off” the UK many times, and shouldn’t expect the King to join him on stage at the 2027 event.
Speaking on GB News, Nana said: “I think a lot of people in this country are looking at this and thinking, ‘Harry is a spoilt brat,’ and perhaps he could just bring the kids to see the King because that’s really what this should be about, not him.
“Given the way he’s slagged off this country and his own family, it’s all very embarrassing.”
Harry has not commented himself on the matter, however a source told The Sun that it is the duke’s “dream” for him to have his father by his side at the 2027 event.

The source said: “Prince Harry desperately wants Charles at Invictus and he wants him to open the Games alongside him.
“He wants it both for the Games and for their relationship. It’s his dream to have his father by his side. It feels appropriate, with Invictus returning to the UK and Charles being Head of the Armed Forces.”
While this may be the case, royal expert Richard Fitzwilliams told The Express this weekend that Harry is using the Invictus Games as his “trump card” with his father by extending an invite that will be difficult for the monarch to reject.
Mr Fitzwilliams told The Express: “This invitation to King Charles to open the Invictus Games in Birmingham is Harry’s trump card. Invictus is his top achievement and it is a charity so well regarded that it celebrated its first decade with a Service at St Paul’s. However, this invitation places the King in an extremely difficult position.”
