Royal experts have revealed the tense nature of the meeting between King Charles III and Prince Harry. The King had not seen his grandchildren in some time, and the meeting itself was up in the air when Harry struggled to get the level of security protection he wanted for his wife, Meghan, and their two children, Archie and Lilibet. The reunion also included Queen Camilla, who reportedly dropped everything to make it to the long-awaited reunion.
British eyes have been all over the royals in the last couple of weeks amid Harry’s brief return to the UK. Commentators speculated on what the meeting would be like, where it would take place, and who would be in attendance. While it was pretty clear that both Harry and the King would be there, people weren’t sure if either Meghan or Camilla would make it. However, reports suggest that Camilla was indeed there, which was a “non-negotiable” for Charles.
Royal author Catherine Mayer told People Magazine that “she is a non-negotiable part of Charles’ life. There is no reconciliation with him without her.”
Meanwhile, a source told Vanity Fair: “The king wanted to see Harry and the children.
“A time was agreed for the Sussexes to come to Highgrove on Friday afternoon, and it was uncharacteristically last-minute for the king. Everyone was sworn to secrecy so that the meeting could remain private.”

Details of the meeting were kept top secret, and no official photos were taken or released to the public.
Not much is known about the relationship between Harry and his mother-in-law, but a recent report by Rob Shuter suggests that she is wary of the Prince.
A source told him that Camilla supports a mending of the relationship between father and son out of love for her husband, but that “forgiveness doesn’t erase memory”.
