The No99 Elf Marc Yamaha had to retire as fire engulfed the bike right behind its rider.

Alessandro Delbianco pulled over on the sidelines and immediately jumped off his ride.

And Delbianco had the wits to remember to turn off the engine as he then walked away from the bike.

The Elf Marc VDS driver was evidently shaken as he fell to his knees in absolute shock.

It was then claimed that the accident came as a result of engine failure.

Motorsport enthusiasts were left absolutely stunned by that accident but also very grateful that the driver was safe.

One fan tweeted: “OMG.”

Another commented: “Awful.”

A third wrote: “Thank God he’s ok.”

This fan said: “How scary!”

That one added: “Wow!”

And a comment read: “That was so dangerous!”
