Prince Harry has been slammed by broadcaster Mark Dolan after reports that he wants his father King Charles to come to Montecito to see his family. It has been reported this week that the Duke of Sussex, 41, is reportedly hoping for his father to visit Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet during his state visit to the US.
The visit to the US will be an important trip for the King, and is likely to coincide with the 250th anniversary of the signing of the US declaration of independence from Britain. It is believed the trip will see Charles spend time in Washington DC – a whole flight away from California. Although Charles will no doubt want to see his grandchildren Archie, six, and Lilibet, four, it isunlikely he will do this during such an important state visit, with Mr Dolan saying that for Harry to think otherwise is an “act of total desperation”.

Speaking on the Daily Expresso podcast this week, Mr Dolan said: “It shows just how deluded Prince Harry is if he thinks that Charles is going to interrupt a rather important global tour to the US.”
Mr Dolan also claimed that Harry does not want the King to visit Montecito to see his grandchildren, but instead wants validation for himself.
The broadcaster said: “I think he’s (Harry) weaponizing the kids. Charles won’t be bullied in that way.”
Explaining further, Mr Dolan added: “What he (Harry) wants is the validation of Charles, he wants Charles to acknowledge him and sprinkle a little bit of that royal stardust over him.”

He continued: “It’s an act of total desperation on the part of Harry to think that Charles is going to go from a quick blink-and-you’ll-miss-it half hour chat at Clarence House to a full state visit to their Montecito compound… it ain’t going to happen.”
King Charles has not commented on the matter publicly, however it is unlikely the monarch will be able to make such a visit.
Instead, it is more likely that the King will see his grandchildren Archie and Lilibet if Harry were to bring them to the UK – something he hasn’t done since 2022.
