A petition demanding convicted murderer Gerard Baden-Clay be denied parole has sparked widespread support, as the wife killer becomes eligible for release next year.

Baden-Clay presented as a charming real estate agent, doting dad and husband before his carefully constructed life came crashing down in 2012 when he reported his wife Allison missing.

Her body was found 10 days later dumped under a bridge, leading to a court case that captivated the country.

Detectives saw straight through Baden-Clay’s house of cards from the moment he reported his wife missing.

Now, 7NEWS viewers like Michelle Janssen are shocked to learn the convicted murderer will soon be eligible for parole.

“I listened to the Kiss and Kill podcast and saw some of the news around his potential release next year. And for me, it was a wave of shock,” Janssen said.

After speaking to others who felt the same way, she decided to take action.

“I really wanted to connect with people on that because I know I couldn’t be the only one who was feeling that way,” she said.

Janssen has started a petition titled Justice for Allison, arguing 15 years is not an adequate sentence for taking a life.

“I think people want a way to channel their outrage, their disgust, their horror, their sadness, their grief about this,” she said.

The petition says parole should be denied on the grounds of community safety, stating Allison deserved better.

“What’s the price then of a woman’s life?” Janssen said.
