Police have declared two crime scenes over the incident.
A woman and child have been found dead shortly after an injured man was found walking around a nearby supermarket.
Queensland Police were called to a supermarket on Beaudesert Beenleigh Rd at Bannockburn in the city of Logan about 7.30am to reports a man was in the shop wounded.
Investigations indicated the man had run to the supermarket from a nearby home in the Logan suburb of Belivah.
Officers rushed to the home, finding a woman and child dead.
Police have since established two crime scenes — one at the home and one at the supermarket — as officers investigate.
The injured man is receiving medical treatment and is expected to assist police with their inquiries.
Authorities have confirmed they do not believe there is any ongoing threat to the community.
