A woman and a child have been found dead at a home south of Brisbane shortly after a wounded man ran into a nearby supermarket.

Queensland Police were called to a Woolworths on Beaudesert Beenleigh Road at Bannockburn in Logan about 7.30am on Thursday following reports a man ‘covered in blood’ had entered the store with a wound to his neck.

Police believe the injured man aged in his 30s had run to the supermarket from a home in Belivah and ran into the path of an oncoming car.

Officers attended the Belivah address, where the bodies of a woman aged in her 30s, and child were discovered. Detectives remain at the scene.

The man is currently receiving medical treatment and is expected to assist police with their investigations.

Police say there is no ongoing threat to the community.

‘Investigations continue and there is no further information at this time,’ a police statement said.

One neighbour told Daily Mail police arrived outside the Belivah property at about 8.30am.

‘Large police presence in the area too, had about four pass me under lights and sirens,’ a local posted online.

Another added: ‘I had to park at the Woolies and walk to my house.’
