A legal analyst has suggested that Nancy Guthrie’s condition may have “taken a turn” if her abductors’ ransom demands “are dropping.” Sam Bassett, Criminal Defense Attorney at Minton, Bassett, Flores and Carsey, P. C. in Texas, examined Nancy Guthrie’s situation as the probe into her vanishing approaches the one-month milestone.

In an exclusive conversation with The Mirror US, Sam indicated that if the ransom communications are authentic, the declining financial demands don’t bode well for the case, as they might signal Nancy’s health having “taken a turn.”

This development follows just weeks after Savannah made an ominous forecast as the FBI unveiled a chilling video of the suspect. It comes after an ex-FBI agent revealed the hidden codeword that Savannah used in her message to the kidnappers.

“The ransom dropping over time, if the demands were from the actual kidnapper, may indicate their desperation and possibly worse, if Mrs. Guthrie’s health took a turn,” Sam grimly noted.

Furthermore, the attorney, who has previously been honored as Lawyer of the Year, highlighted that from the outset of the investigation, there have been substantial worries about Nancy’s wellbeing.

The 84-year-old mother of three requires medication for a cardiac condition, with authorities cautioning that going without that medication for more than 24 hours could prove deadly.

Nancy also takes medication for hypertension, commonly referred to as high blood pressure, along with blood thinners and antiarrhythmics.

Additionally, the cherished grandmother received a pacemaker implant, which became vital to the investigation when her Apple Watch documented the moment the device lost connection to her medical equipment.

“We know in this case Mrs. Guthrie has some serious health challenges along with her age, and three weeks is a long time for someone to be without crucial medications,” Sam explained to The Mirror US. “The risk increases with time.”

Tragically, optimism appears to be fading, with another specialist observing that historical data from similar cases doesn’t favor Nancy Guthrie’s outcome.

Michael Gould, a former Nassau County lieutenant, estimated there’s an “under 10%” probability of locating Nancy alive, considering the duration that has elapsed in the investigation.

In disappearance cases, the initial 48 to 72 hours are critical, as 70% to 80% of individuals are located during this window. Beyond that, after seven days, merely 2% to 3% of people stay missing, yet Nancy has been absent for almost three weeks.

Michael highlighted that her health background raises alarm given her prolonged absence, stating to the Express US, “Nancy Guthrie is 84-years-old and reportedly requires life-sustaining medication, which-based on what has been shared-was needed within 24 hours. That strongly suggests she has not been receiving it.”

The former police lieutenant went on to outline what Nancy’s timeline could mean for the Arizona resident, stating: “Unfortunately, abductions of this type generally end in one of two ways: a successful rescue, or recovery for family closure. At this stage, in my opinion, the likelihood of a rescue is very low-probably under 10%.”

Nancy’s daughter and NBC’s Today Show co-host, Savannah Guthrie, also seems to have doubts about finding her mother alive, sharing in an Instagram video, “We also know that she may be lost. She may already be gone.”

She added, “She may have already gone home to the Lord that she loves, and is dancing in heaven with her mom and her dad and with her beloved brother Pierce, and with our daddy. And if this is what is to be, then we will all accept it.”

Despite growing concerns, there remains no update on Nancy’s whereabouts or condition, and no arrests have been made in connection with her disappearance.
