Jannik Sinner appears to be dating Mick Schumacher’s ex-girlfriend, Danish model Laila Hasanovic, after she was spotted on the US Open champion’s lockscreen.

Defending US Open champion Jannik Sinner has sparked dating rumors with Danish model Laila Hasanovic, being spotted on his lockscreen at Flushing Meadows. Hasanovic, 24, is the ex-girlfriend of former Formula 1 driver Mick Schumacher, the son of motorsport legend Michael.

Sinner, 24, reached the quarterfinals of his US Open title defense following a quick three-set win over Kazakhstani Alexander Blubik inside Arthur Ashe Stadium on Monday night. The Italian is the reigning world No. 1 and has four Grand Slams to his name, and he is looking to add a fifth in New York.

But he faces stiff competition from Carlos Alcaraz, Taylor Fritz and Novak Djokovic, with the Serbian superstar and all-time singles Slam holder (24), the last men’s player outside of Sinner and Alcaraz to win a Grand Slam, the 2023 US Open. With Sinner on top of the tennis world, he also appears to be on cloud nine in his personal life.

Sinner has been linked with Hasanovic for several months, but neither has publicly confirmed a relationship. The model attended Wimbledon earlier this summer, where Sinner defeated Alcaraz to win the SW19 Singles title. It was also reported that Hasanovic was spotted in Sinner’s box at the French Open when Alcaraz got the upper hand in their Roland-Garros final.

Before the US Open, Sinner strongly hinted that he’s in a romantic relationship. Italian newspaper Corriere della Sera asked Sinner whether he was “in love,” to which he responded: “Yes, but we don’t talk about our private life.”

Sinner was also spotted in Copenhagen with an unidentified woman, believed to be Hasanovic, in her home city. “I had to do some business, just a couple of photo shoots there,” Sinner told reporters. “That’s it. Nothing else.”

Fast forward to September, and Sinner’s romance is all but confirmed. A US Open fan managed to film Sinner looking at his phone, and Hasanovic was featured on his lock screen. Sinner was previously in a relationship with fellow tennis player Anna Kalinskaya, who herself had a romance with Nick Kyrgios.

Sinner confirmed the pair’s breakup earlier this year in May. “I was very surprised to see some pictures, which, you know, nothing serious… I’m not in a relationship. So, whoever is asking, that’s it. It’s all good,” he said.

Sinner will now play compatriot Lorenzo Musetti in the quarterfinals of the US Open on Wednesday. “Yeah, I mean, pressure is there. Pressure has always been there (smiling). It’s going to be very interesting to see obviously,” Sinner said on meeting Musetti at the US Open.

“It’s a bit different when you play the same, or from me being Italian playing against another Italian, they are always a bit different matches. But in the same time, he’s an amazing player, very, very talented. He is playing some great tennis.

“He has struggled a bit, you know, during the season, but now he finds himself in an amazing form and shape. Yeah, you know, the pressure is on me, you know.

“But in the same time, you know, most of the times the pressure is a little bit more me than on the opponent, so let’s see what’s coming. I like these challenges. It’s great from an Italian point of view to have, for sure, an Italian playing the semis of a Grand Slam.”
