Hit Paramount+ crime drama MobLand is confirmed to return for a second season, with one cast member currently starring in Netflix’s biggest show for February.
MobLand and How to Get to Heaven From Belfast star Emmett J Scanlan has promised the second season of Paramount+’s hit crime drama will be well worth the wait.
The Irish actor portrays Paul O’Donnell, an enforcer for the Harrigan family, in the popular thriller starring Tom Hardy, Helen Mirren, and Pierce Brosnan.
Created by Ronan Bennett, the crime drama follows fixer Harry Da Souza (played by Hardy), who protects the powerful Harrigans in the midst of a bloody, all-out gang war on the streets of London.
Away from the series, he’s most recently been seen portraying Owen in Netflix’s new comedy crime caper created by Derry Girls writer Lisa McGee.
At the recent premiere for How to Get to Heaven From Belfast, Scanlan was probed about the second season of MobLand, which does not yet have a release date.

“If you liked season one, penned incredibly by Jez Butterworth, then season two is season one on steroids!” he teased to Hello!
“It is insane, it’s bananas. I loved season one, I loved reading it and getting lost in that world. I think season two is even better. The scripts are fantastic.”
Scanlan’s comments confirm that he’ll be continuing his role as Paul in MobLand’s second season.
Paul plays a pivotal role within the Harrigan empire as their head of security, though this will undoubtedly put him in the line of fire when the family begins to expand into the power vacuum left at the end of the first season.

He also called co-star Brosnan his acting “hero”, teasing some intense bouts with the James Bond icon as crime boss Conrad Harrigan.
Scanlan went on: “I get to go toe-to-toe with Pierce Brosnan for a number of scenes and he is an absolute delight.
“They say never meet your heroes but I mean that’s [expletive] because this guy is so warm, so welcoming, and so nurturing and such an artist.
“To work with heroes and to get to be on set with people who are better than me inevitably, it makes every day a school day. I just get to learn from them. It’s amazing!”

Plot details about MobLand’s second season are currently tightly under wraps, though updates may start to drop soon as Hardy and his co-star Joanne Froggatt (Call the Midwife) were recently spotted filming scenes in London.
