The Princess of Wales

Princess Catherine left royal fans stunned by the price tag attached to her festive look. The Princess of Wales was spotted in a striking red Miu Miu cardigan valued at a reported £1,350, sparking conversation well beyond the palace gates.

Catherine wore the vibrant knit as part of a special Together at Christmas engagement, held at Westminster Abbey back in 2023. She hosted a surprise tea party for those who mentor and support children.

The moment formed part of her wider annual Christmas initiative, which shines a light on compassion, community, and quiet acts of service.

Her cashmere-jacquard cardigan featured a diamond-patterned design embellished with white and black rose motifs, finished with a detachable cotton collar – this added a refined, vintage-inspired touch.

Reaction online was swift once the price of the cardigan became public. Social media users took to X, formerly Twitter, to share their thoughts, with one commenter writing: “A sweater for £1,350?!” while another added: “She looks wonderful, but that price is hard to justify.”

Catherine paired the cardigan with a matching red skirt, and styled her long chestnut hair in her signature loose waves.

Unsurprisingly, the cardigan quickly sold out following her appearance, disappearing not only from Miu Miu’s own website but also from luxury retailers including Net-A-Porter and Farfetch.

Meanwhile, the Princess of Wales was first seen wearing the piece during the filmed introduction for the 2021 Together at Christmas concert.

She later revived the statement piece in 2023, re-wearing it for a festive tea party connected to the same seasonal project, reinforcing her continued commitment to meaningful dressing.

Known for her long-standing charitable work, Catherine has consistently championed causes close to her heart, including early childhood development, mental health and youth wellbeing.

Last year, the Princess of Wales also faced personal health challenges, undergoing preventative chemotherapy following an undisclosed cancer diagnosis.

Although she stepped back from public engagements during treatment, it has been widely reported that she continued to work quietly on initiatives she remains deeply committed to and, over the past 12 months, has since returned to public duties with an increased workload.
