Beloved Countryfile presenter Sammi Kinghorn has revealed she is expecting her first child with her long-term partner. The 30-year-old BBC TV star, who is also a British world champion wheelchair racer, made the announcement by posting a sweet video to Instagram. In it she threw her arms around her partner Callum Aitken as both wore caps, with hers emblazoned with the word “mum” and his with “dad”.
In the clip Sammi was holding a scan of their baby and a pair of tiny lemon-coloured baby booties. The Mysha Didi track I Get To Love you played underneath the emotional clip. Alongside the sweet film she posted a caption which read: “Half of me and half of you! We can’t wait to meet you in July,” indicating that she is around half way through her pregnancy. Her 11,600 followers were delighted for her, and flooded the comments with messages of congratulations and support and numerous heart emojis.
One fan wrote: “Aww this is the best news! Congratulations guys! Xx.” Another added: “Such gorgeous news Sammi, exciting times. Congrats to you both.”
A third chimed in: “Sammi!!!! This is such brilliant news. Congratulations to all the family.” A fourth sharedL “Yay Sammi! Love this. Made me smile, so pleased for you both.”
A fifth penned: “Aww massive congratulations Sammi!! Amazing news for you both xx.” Meanwhile a sixth gushed: “Ahhh, I am so excited for you both!!!!!! Congratulations.”
Sammi, who grew up on a farm in Scotland with her parents Neil and Elaine and her brother, joined the Countryfile team back in 2023 and she quickly became a firm favourite with viewers.

Despite having many fond memories of her childhood, she has spoken about the life-changing event when she was just 14-years-old which left her confined to a wheelchair. Unaware that Sammi had climbed onto some machinery, her dad Neil lowered a forklift bucket he’d been using to clear snow, which landed on top of her.
Speaking to the Daily Mail last year, Sammi said she remembers feeling “pressure” on her neck and initially thought her dad was “joking” but had “gone a bit too far”.
The presenter recounted the harrowing moment she started “screaming,” revealing that her back began “popping” and suddenly her “head was in [her] crotch”. Sammi described being “crushed right down” into a “tiny ball”.
Upon regaining consciousness, Sammi realised she couldn’t feel her legs, although she retained movement in them, before collapsing onto compacted snow. She experienced her legs “pulsing” and “twitching,” marking the last time she had sensation in them.
