rince Archie and Princess Lilibet may have a heartbreaking question for their father, Prince Harry as they grow up, a royal expert has claimed.

The Duke of Sussex’s young children have grown up in the US, the home of their mother, Meghan Markle. As a result, they have only met their extended family a handful of times.

Archie and Lilibet could face ’emotional problems’ in the future

Prince Archie, now six, was born in London in May 2019. At the time, Harry and Meghan were living in the UK.

Archie’s royal relatives likely got to meet him only a few times, before the couple moved across the pond the following year after stepping down from royal duties.

A year later, Princess Lilibet, now four, was born in California in June 2021. The young royal has reportedly met the king only once, when the Sussex family travelled over for Queen Elizabeth II’s platinum jubilee celebrations in June 2022.

It’s believed that neither Archie nor Lilibet have ever met Meghan’s father, Thomas Markle. Meghan has reportedly been estranged from her father since her wedding in 2018.

Now, royal historian, Hugo Vickers, told The Sun of his concern for the youngsters.

“I worry about the children because there’s going to come a point when they’re going to say, why haven’t I met my grandfather on either side?” he said, adding: “He’s [Prince Harry’s] storing up a lot of, you know, emotional problems for them, I think.”

Mr Vickers continued: “If I was being brought up in California, and I suddenly discovered that my first cousin was likely to be king one day, I would like to get to know him, obviously.”

The royal expert went on: “One day, as they grow up, they’re going to get irritated by having had the backs of their heads photographed and used for promotion, and never having met their grandfathers, either side, not Mr Markle, nor the king. So it’s not a very good situation, frankly.”

Will Prince Harry reconcile with King Charles?

Earlier this year, Prince Harry sparked hope of a reconciliation with the royal family, as he reunited with King Charles.

The father and son enjoyed a private tea together at Clarence House, the king’s London residence, during Harry’s four-day trip to the UK.

Mr Vickers seemed encouraging of the pair ending their reported rift. He claimed that Harry “carries a lot of emotional baggage” and has been “looking pretty unhappy” as a result.

However the royal expert shared his opinion that any apology should be coming from Harry’s side. He said that it should be on the Duke of Sussex to extend the olive branch and not the other way round.

After stepping back from duties in 2020, Harry and Meghan did interviews and a docuseries detailing their experiences within the monarchy. However, the made some damning allegations about the royals, which has seemingly put a strain on relations.
