Happy Holidays from all of us here at What’s on Netflix! We hope you had a great day filled with gift-giving, family, and plenty of good food. Whether you’re back at work or still enjoying some time off, Netflix has dropped a wave of new releases to keep you entertained. Below, we’ll walk you through all 50+ new arrivals for the week and take a closer look at the movies and series that have been dominating the charts throughout the week.
This week, we’re presuming that you’re well aware that Stranger Things has returned with a new batch of three episodes, so we’ll instead highlight what else has dropped instead!
What to Watch on Netflix This Week
Wrath of Man (2021)
Rating: R
Language: English
Genre: Action, Crime, Thriller
Director: Guy Ritchie
Cast: Jason Statham, Holt McCallany, Josh Hartnett
Writer: Nicolas Boukhrief, Éric Besnard, Guy Ritchie
Runtime: 119 min / 1h 59m
Coming to Netflix as part of a new MGM licensing pact (as we first covered with the arrival of the Bond movies next month), we see one of Jason Statham’s defining roles arrive on the streamer.
A mysterious and cold new security guard for a Los Angeles cash truck company, known simply as “H,” surprises his co-workers during a heist when he unleashes precision skills. The crew soon realizes H isn’t there for a paycheck—he’s on a hunt for the people who killed his son.
The movie marks the long-awaited reunion of Guy Ritchie and Jason Statham, best known for their previous collaborations in the fast-talking banter in Snatch and Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels.

The Best You Can (2025)
Rating: R
Language: English
Genre: Comedy, Drama, Romance
Director: Michael J. Weithorn
Cast: Kevin Bacon, Kyra Sedgwick, Judd Hirsch
Writer: Michael J. Weithorn
Runtime: 103 min
Skipping a theatrical release altogether and instead releasing on VOD recently, it’s highly likely you’ve never even heard of Kevin Bacon’s new rom-com in which he stars alongside Kyra Sedgwick, plus favorites like Judd Hirsch, Brittany O’Grady, Olivia Luccardi, and Ray Romano. Fortunately, Netflix is setting that fact right, having added the Sony movie as an SVOD debut on Christmas Day.
The rom-com, from the director of A Little Help and The Sidekick, follows a woman who finds solace in an unexpected friendship with a drifting security guard who offers a new perspective and hope. It’s a charming, smaller movie that’s perfect for a snuggly evening.

Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse (2018)
Rating: PG
Language: English
Genre: Animation, Action, Adventure
Director: Bob Persichetti, Peter Ramsey, Rodney Rothman
Cast: Shameik Moore, Jake Johnson, Hailee Steinfeld
Writer: Phil Lord, Rodney Rothman
Runtime: 117 min / 1h 57m
Spidey has had three live-action movie adaptations thus far, and that was joined in 2018 by an animated iteration, which is by far and away the best of the bunch in my humble opinion.
Serving as the first film, Into the Spider-Verse follows Brooklyn teenager Miles Morales, who is bitten by a radioactive spider and must learn to navigate his new powers. However, when a super-collider opens a portal to the multiverse, Miles realizes he isn’t the only Spider-Man in town and must team up with five other spider-powered individuals to save all of reality from Kingpin.
Sadly, you won’t be able to watch both the first and second movies together with Across The Spider-Verse, as it has departed after its 18-month stint relatively recently. Still, if you’ve never gotten onto the animated Spider-verse train, now is definitely your chance.
