‘Reason’ Meghan Markle and Prince Harry ‘won’t bring Archie and Lilibet to Australia’ as she plans to become ‘the new queen of hearts’
The Sussexes will be heading down under for exciting visits
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will travel to Australia this month for a series of “private, business, and philanthropic engagements”.
But the Duke and Duchess of Sussex reportedly won’t bring their children, Prince Archie, six, and Princess Lilibet, four.
According to a new report, the reason why Harry, 41, and Meghan, 44, aren’t bringing their kids is pretty simple.
It also claims that Meghan sees the Australia trip as an opportunity to become “the new queen of hearts down under”.

Prince Harry and Meghan set for Australia trip
Speaking to Heat Magazine, a source has claimed: “It’s no secret that a lot of people in Australia aren’t exactly fans of the royal family, just look at how much traction the anti-monarchist movement has over there. She’s convinced that they can tap into that sentiment and position themselves as the modern alternative to the royal family.
“Meghan is taking that as a massive green light. In her view, that automatically means people will be far more receptive to her and Harry than they are in England. She really feels she can be the new queen of hearts down under.”
They added: “She says there’s a huge market to tap into in Australia with serious money to be made and she’s ready to throw herself into it. This little tour they’re going on is the first step; she’s saying it’s a chance to test the waters and she’s got full confidence that it will be a massive success.”
They source claimed that Meghan is “looking at Australia as a chance to start again” and feels convinced “it’s going to allow them to totally reset the narrative”.
‘Why’ Archie and Lilibet aren’t travelling to Australia
Meanwhile, the insider delved into why Archie and Lilibet may not join their parents on the trip.
The source claimed Harry and Meghan won’t bring their children “because it’s going to be a relatively short trip”.
She really feels she can be the new queen of hearts down under.
However, according to the insider, if things go well, the couple could bring Archie and Lilibet over another time.
Royal Insider has contacted representatives for Harry and Meghan for comment.

Petition over Harry and Meghan’s trip
Harry and Meghan’s Australia trip hasn’t come without some criticism, however.
A petition was set up late last year regarding the funding of the overseas trip. At the time of writing, more than 43,000 people have signed the petition.
Advocacy group Beyond Australia set the petition up in November. The petition description reads: “Prince Harry and Meghan are visiting Australia in April 2026. As this is a private visit, Australian taxpayers must not fund security, logistics or government coordination.
“At a time when Australians are facing significant cost-of-living pressures, including rising grocery bills, fuel prices, mortgage stress driven by interest rate hikes, and increasing energy costs, public resources must be used responsibly and applied fairly, without special treatment for high-profile individuals.”
However, a spokesperson for the couple has said: “The trip is being funded privately, so I’m not sure what this petition hopes to achieve.”
