Meghan Markle has caused quite the stir online thanks to an unassuming video of some tea and cookies, which eagle-eyed fans have a hell of a lot to say about
Once again, trolls have jumped on the Meghan Markle hate train after they spotted – what they called – a “unhygienic” and “disgusting” detail in a new video she shared on social media.
It will likely come as no surprise that Meghan is yet again at the wrong end of a string of negative backlash from online critics. Ever since she joined the Royal Family in 2016 after marrying Prince Harry, she has been constantly batting off a seemingly relentless barrage of internet trolling.
Many critics appear to seek out any chance they get to blast her and call her out, with the latest trolling saga being thanks to a batch of cookies and tea.
The Duchess of Sussex took to Instagram to share a post for her food and lifestyle brand, @aseverofficial, where she was seen making a cup of tea next to a plate of shortbread cookies with jam and flower sprinkles.
It didnt take long for eagle-eyed critics to spot one key detail that might take the cream off the top of the seemingly appetising clip … quite literally.
The brief video was shared on X, where fans blasted Meghan for not realizing that a tiny bug was crawling around near a flower cookie at the bottom of the plate.
It could be seen moving around the biscuits for a few moments before disappearing from view.
“There’s literally a BUG crawling around on the plate! Meghan is so unhygienic,” pointed out one disgusted X user. A second echoed, “You would think Meghan would notice this BEFORE posting!”
A third chimed in, “OMG there is the insect crawling into food. It’s so disgusting,” as another blasted, “This is beyond disgusting.”
Other trolls were infuriated by Meghan herself, with one saying, “Good Lord! Who bites a cookie and then throws it back on the platter? Was it that awful, or is this your idea of how us non-Montecitans behave? Either way… EWWWW!”
“Who takes a bite of a cookie with their germs all over it and drops it back on top of the other clean cookies this woman is gutter trash!” someone else added.
However, not everyone was out to get Meghan; some jumped to her defense.
“God forbid someone sits outside with food in peak summer, and a bug lands on your food. Happens to everyone!” one fan said, clapping back at the critics.
