Meghan Markle and Kate Middleton may not see each other day, or even speak, but they are still sister-in-laws, and it’s being said Meghan sent Kate a message.
Meghan Markle subtly communicated with her sister-in-law, Princess Kate, through her fashion choices during an Invictus Games event with Prince Harry in February 2024.
The year kicked off with Meghan and Harry launching a rebrand, which included the unveiling of their new website, Sussex.com, replacing their previous site, Archewell.com. The following month, they flew to Canada for the Invictus Games Vancouver Whistler 2025’s One Year to Go celebrations.
During this visit, royal enthusiasts noticed Meghan’s “secret signal” to Kate, reports the Mirror UK.
For one event, Meghan donned a pricey “white outfit,” featuring a $235 Calvin Klein puffer coat, $190 Sorel Joan of Arctic snow boots and a $360 Burberry cashmere Pom Pom beanie.
Fans of Kate quickly pointed out that Meghan’s all-white ensemble mirrored the color scheme chosen by the Princess for her Together at Christmas event just two months prior.

Fashion expert Amber Graafland revealed to Fabulous that Meghan’s wardrobe selection might have conveyed subtle messages.
Graafland explained: “Giving a masterclass in ski chic Meghan opted for a snow bunny theme in white skinny jeans, a cropped cashmere sweater and a tonal Calvin KIein coat.”
She added: “Adept at using her clothing to convey deeper meanings, Meghan’s deployment of angelic white could of course have a much deeper meaning. White symbolises purity, innocence, and neutrality. It also represents new beginnings, which could indicate a willingness to leave the controversy of the past few days behind and move on with her newly defined role.”
Only days before, Harry and Meghan had encountered intense criticism for overhauling their website, with detractors alleging the pair were exploiting their royal connections despite abandoning their duties as working royals.
The Duchess’s outfit made royal watchers think of Princess Kate
The redesigned platform brands itself “The Office of Prince Harry and Meghan, The Duke and Duchess of Sussex,” and it also connects to their previous sussexroyal.com website – despite their 2020 agreement to abandon the “Sussex Royal” designation when they resigned.
When the rebrand was announced, royal commentator Josh Rom discussed the British public’s response on Sky News Australia.
“The ‘grifter’ word comes to mind with this because this is them trying to keep in with this institution in some way, shape or form,” Rom said.
“Let’s be honest, that’s the only way in which they’re going to retain relevancy and, you know, the only reason why people pay them any sort of attention is because of the role in which this institution provided for them.”
