Viewers of MAFS Australia have called on producers to make a significant change a decade into the popular reality series.

E4 is currently broadcasting the 13th season of the dating experiment, which follows hopeful singles from across Australia who have chosen to wed complete strangers.

This week, audiences were introduced to late arrivals Tyson Gordon and Stephanie Marshall, with the groom already courting controversy.

During his introductory interview, the 30 year old made no secret of his aversion to “woke” women.

He stated: “A woman with green hair. That’s the first red flag. A woman that’s a complete feminist. Hates men. A woman that hates Donald Trump…A lot of these woke people I’ve met aren’t the sharpest tools in the shed,” reports OK!.

Tyson continued to voice his views even after tying the knot, repeatedly criticising his wife for being too “masculine” due to her career-focused nature.

Notably, Stephanie appeared to share a similar “anti-woke” outlook to Tyson prior to their meeting, yet even she has taken issue with his conduct.

Reflecting on their wedding, she admitted: “It’s giving manosphere.” The term ‘manosphere’ refers to an online community that purports to help men achieve success, but frequently peddles harmful stereotypes about women.

The 32-year-old further challenged her husband when he expressed displeasure at her having slept with 20 people, despite the fact that he has slept with 30 women.

Following just two episodes, viewers have condemned Tyson’s divisive views, flocking to Reddit to demand action.

An exasperated fan declared: “No more red-pill cast members please.” The phrase ‘red pill’ refers to a group of men who advocate traditional gender roles, which are frequently overtly sexist.

The message went on: “Is anyone else actually exhausted? After watching Tyson’s “interrogation” of Stephanie in e15, I’m done. The body count obsession, the “logical” (i.e. delusional) ego, the deep-seated fragility masked as superiority… triggering to watch.

“It’s not “good TV ” or “spicy drama” it’s just irresponsible of production to give these guys a platform….Can we please ban this archetype for Season 14?”

Nearly 300 audience members supported the statement, with 96 sharing their perspectives.

Nevertheless, some rushed to the programme’s defence, highlighting that MAFS aims to authentically portray the dating landscape. This inevitably means certain participants won’t subscribe to mainstream opinions, yet they deserve representation nonetheless.

One supporter contended: “But the reality is these men exist in the dating world (unfortunately) so having them represented on this relationship reality show is topical.

“The experts are obviously going to call him out on his bull***t. And showing people dismantling this red pill ideology is important.”
