Kelvin Fletcher and his wife Liz have been documenting their rural life on ITV’s Fletchers’ Family Farm since 2023. The couple, who have known each other since childhood and been married since 2015, abandoned urban living and relocated to a farm in the Peak District in 2021. They are the proud parents of four children, Marnie, Milo, Mateusz, and Maximus, who are actively involved in their life on the farm.
Ahead of the second series of Fletcher’s Family Farm airing in 2024, Liz spoke about how it captured both the family’s progress and the challenges they continued to face, including an emotional moment that left her in tears. The 42-year-old told Country & Townhouse Magazine: “I think it’s gonna take you on an emotional roller coaster. From episode one, there’s so much going on. We’ve got cows now. The kids have grown up a little bit more.”

The actress continued: “The twins are super feral and involved in everything. It feels like everything is the same, but so much has changed. I feel like we’ve got a goal now of where we’re at with the farm, and I think you see that, although we’ve still got so much to learn, we know so much more than the first series.
“I’m really excited for people to see it and to see how far we’ve come on. We do fall short still on a few things, and we have to learn it, but I guess that’s just life, isn’t it? You see how we tackle that, and we face a lot of challenges. I’m crying in the first episode, and I never cry. So that says it all!”
Back in March, Kelvin, 42, and Liz opened up about feeling “gutted” when their plans to relocate to the United States fell through.
Kelvin, best known for playing Andy Sugden on Emmerdale for 20 years, shared how the idea first came about during an appearance on the Sliding Doors podcast.

The star, who won Strictly Come Dancing in 2019, said: “We decided – I think it was mid-2018 – to spend about three or four months in California, in LA predominantly. At the time, it was just myself, Liz and Marnie. That was our kind of family setup. I was CrossFitting every morning at 6 or 7 and was like, ‘This is the life.’
“And then it was just that thing of, ‘Let’s just move here.’ We didn’t have any jobs at the time, we were working actors, and it was just like, ‘Let’s just do it.’ Now, those decisions, I admit, for some people it’s like, you can’t just decide that, but we can. If I want to go and do something, I’ll go and do it.
The pair then spent a year planning and testing the idea before submitting their visa applications. Their dream was to take a chance on Hollywood, even if it meant driving for Uber or working in cafés, simply for the excitement of building a life in a new country.
However, Kelvin’s success on Strictly Come Dancing led to new opportunities in the UK, leading them to postpone their relocation.
The pandemic then hit, and US visa restrictions ultimately rendered the plan unattainable.
Kelvin explained: “There were no foreign workers allowed for the foreseeable future – I think for at least 18 months you weren’t going to be allowed into the country – so that was kind of the American dream over for us.”
Liz also spoke about the emotional and financial strain, adding: “We were gutted. We invested so much money in the visa. This was the plan – we painted the house white, all the carpets were grey so we could sell the house straight away.”
“We can sit and cry about it, but ultimately it is what it is,” Kelvin concluded
