Netflix is removing Jenna Coleman’s “stunning” British crime thriller very soon
The Haunting of Hill House‘s Oliver Jackson-Cohen co-stars.
Time is running out to watch Jenna Coleman’s acclaimed British thriller Jackdaw, which also stars The Haunting of Hill House‘s Oliver Jackson-Cohen. The film, which was released in 2023, will be leaving Netflix on 26 May.

Set during a single night in Hartlepool, Jackdaw follows Jack (Jackson-Cohen), a former motocross champion and army vet. After falling on hard times, he accepts a job from an old school friend-turned-criminal to make money for his family.
But after getting double-crossed, his brother is kidnapped and Jack must search for answers as he travels through Tees Valley.

The film marked the second collaboration between Coleman and Jackson-Cohen in 2023, after they starred together in the Prime Video series, Wilderness.

Empire wrote that the film’s “reach sometimes exceeds its grasp”, but added: “There’s a thrilling sense of ambition to this north-east thriller that promises big things for director Jamie Childs.”

Cultured Vultures praised the film, writing: “It’s rare to get an action movie that understands that creating tension doesn’t mean mindless brutality. With fantastic action set pieces and rich characterisation, Jackdaw is one of the more interesting action flicks you’ll see this year.”
While Screen Rant said it “vacillates wildly between being darkly comedic and tension-filled or emotionally affecting”.
Adding that “it all culminates in a nerve-wracking finale and a richly satisfying and surprisingly tender ending, offering a great payoff for the thrilling, madcap journey”.
Jackdaw is currently streaming on Netflix.
