A LOVE Island winner has revealed why Belle Hassan is facing a backlash after a “traumatising” and “insane” All Stars series.

Reality star Belle, 27, had a rocky time in the villa and quickly earned herself the name “hurricane Belle” following a string of fiery outbursts.

Over the course of six weeks, the brunette stunner clashed with a slew of her fellow Islanders – mainly Lucinda Strafford, Scott van-der-Sluis and Sean Stone.

Belle earned a reputation of being confrontational, with some fans accusing her of being a “bully”.

But the Islander’s pal from Love Island season five, the series where Belle found fame, has jumped to her defence.

Amber Gill, who actually won the 2019 series, has revealed how times have changed in the villa, and when she was on the ITV2 reality show, the women were more “fiery”.

Speaking on fellow Love Island star Chloe Burrows‘ podcast this week, the Geordie lass said: “Belle was in my season. I get on with Belle really well.

“And my theory on why it looks the way it does now, right…

“We were all collectively insane on mine. I was kicking off, Anna (Vilekie) was kicking off, Maura (Higgins) was kicking off, Belle was kicking off.

“So it didn’t look as bad when Belle kicked off because we were all insane

“Whereas those girls are kind of like quiet and some of them are a bit weird.

“And some of them are like mediators and quiet and awkward. And so she looks like she’s insane.”

Talking about her feelings on Love Island All Stars as a whole, Amber said: “Like it looked traumatising.

“Cancel the whole thing. Don’t do it again. Don’t.

“It’s dead and buried now. They’ve killed it. Everyone’s miserable. Nobody’s happy.”

It comes just days after Belle hit out at Love Island producers and blamed editing for the way she was portrayed on All Stars.

During Monday night’s final, host Maya Jama was keen to find out if Belle had an regrets with the way she handled some situations.

Maya said: “Let’s talk about you in the villa because obviously there was a lot of drama between you and some of the girlies, emotions ran high. On reflection, how do you feel like you dealt with everything in there?”

But Belle insisted that some of the more light-hearted fun scenes which would have shown her in a better light were not included in the final cut.

She replied: “I think for me watching a few things back that I’ve seen since, I feel like a lot hasn’t been shown – the good times and the other things that kind of show the reason for the upset and the anger with things.

“I think we had an amazing time and it’s a shame when we are all friends and everything’s great, a lot of that wasn’t shown.

“I am opinionated, that’s who I am and sometimes I don’t always have the best delivery but I always mean well and I do lead with my heart and I am emotional, I’m a Pieces.”

Belle added: “Whatever I’ve said has always come from a pure heart, whether it looks that way or it doesn’t.

“I never mean an ill intent.

“I think people have to remember that sometimes with the show, things are done for entertainment and to provoke the big reactions – because that’s entertainment, you guys see an hour of 24.”
