GEMMA Collins has shared that she felt forced to “protect” Adam Thomas from David Haye’s comments on I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!

The TV star, 45, spilled how she really felt about the camp drama talking to staff on I’m A Celebrity: Unpacked.

She began by sharing: “I’m not afraid to step up,” before delving into her take on the recent spat between the lads that fans branded as “bullying”.

Adam wasn’t feeling well but instead of showing empathy, David said he was acting “useless” and he doesn’t like men like that.

It was said within intended ear shot of Adam as well as other members of camp.

Gemma then continued to say: “I think David Haye might have seen a weakness in Adam.

“There was times where I had to protect Adam in there.

“If I was going full GC mode on David Haye, and a lot of them, then it would’ve been a disaster in there but I had to remain calm and composed and just remember that I’m not here to be performative. I am here as me.

“And I think the fact that I stretched my arms out, I’m sort of saying to ’em all, without biting their heads off, “enough””.

Speaking on how it felt to be surrounded by that kind of energy, Gemma said: “Well, basically, I knew if it was ever gonna get too bad I would be taking David on.

“You know, bring on the next heavyweight champion fighting the world.

“Because if I feel that something’s too much, I’m not afraid to step up.”

Fans of Gemma responded to the clip posted to I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here’s! official Instagram page admiring her gutsy personality.

One user said: Love her she’s an incredible inspiration.”

A second shared: “You are fabulous Gemma.”

A third added: “You were amazing. Well done Gemma.”

David’s recent comments towards Adam stemmed from the fact Adam said he didn’t feel well and didn’t want to participate in the upcoming trial.

But “Who gives a s***,” was David’s rattled response.

It was then that Beverley Callard confronted David, asking for him to have a bit of ‘sympathy and empathy’ for his campmate.

“He’s a grown ass man,” David replied. “I don’t like guys when they’re a bit useless. There it is.”

Users vented about the moment online, with one saying: “David Haye, what a bully. Times like this he should be chucked out for being a d***head.”

“How has David not been removed for bullying yet?” inquired a second.

“David really needs to go – that was not banter, that was bullying. I’m sorry but it was. Don’t like it,” admitted a third.

“Thought that was hard to watch. It wasn’t banter, it was bullying. You could see through Adam’s ‘laughter’… that was him trying to disguise it. Actually found this so uncomfortable to watch,” stated another.

The drama kicked off shortly after Jimmy Bullard revealed that one celebrity had to volunteer themselves to take on new bushtucker trial Termite Terror.

Mo Farrah and birthday girl Ashley Roberts both offered to do the challenge, before David asked if Adam wanted to give it a go.

A poorly Adam suggested that Ashley take on the trial given it’s her birthday and she had volunteered, hoping to put to bed the issue.
