George Russell celebrated a victory in Melbourne but called for immediate FIA changes to “straight mode” after experiencing sketchy understeering. Lewis Hamilton finished fourth for Ferrari, expressing pride in his team’s progress despite falling short of the Mercedes pace, noting he was nearly able to overtake Charles Leclerc in the final laps.

Home favourite Oscar Piastri suffered a nightmare retirement after crashing on the formation lap.
