Thanks to several new interviews, new assets, and behind-the-scenes drops, we just got a bunch of new intel on Bridgerton season 4, so let’s bring you up to speed on everything new we’ve learned.

Just to recap, season 4 of Bridgerton will primarily focus on the story of Yerin Ha’s Sophie Beckett and Luke Thompson’s Benedict Bridgerton. Thus far, we’ve had a bunch of first looks and a teaser trailer, which confirmed season 4 will follow in season 3’s footsteps in being split across two parts with eight episodes overall.

Shondaland’s 12 Days of Bridgerton

One slow trickle of new intel and first looks has come courtesy of Shondaland, the publisher arm of the production company run by Shonda Rhimes. They normally cover all sorts of pop culture articles, but naturally, they also leverage their exclusive links to the show they produce.

For the festive period, they’re running what they call the “12 Days of Bridgerton.” Each day, their website updates with new intel or treats all Bridgerton-related. There are some more throwaway days like Day 3 when they just promoted the shop, but other days included the cast answering various questions,

Day 6 included showrunner Jess Brownell, who describes the season as “tantalizing in so many ways,” highlighting its mix of “upstairs, downstairs,” “fantasy meets reality,” and a “forbidden romance,” calling it “a real platter of tantalizing options.” She says one of the biggest surprises is seeing “new levels from Benedict Bridgerton,” a character viewers may think has “done it all” and “seen it all.” Brownell explains that what Benedict has been missing is being “really vulnerable and really committed.” She adds that “finally this season, Sophie will challenge him to do that,” before cheekily teasing, “Can I say bathtub?”

That’s in addition to brand new character stills from the forthcoming season:
