A Married At First Sight star has broken down in tears after an unexpected comment left them stunned.
Tensions have been rising on Married At First Sight Australia as the experiment continues to test the couples, who previously made their commitment to a stranger on their wedding day. Viewers previously saw Feedback Week which brought more explosive moments as well as a dinner party that resulted in more fiery clashes.
This week, the drama is set to continue as tonight’s instalment of the hit reality show (April 27) saw the penultimate commitment ceremony, where the remaining couples faced the experts once more. But there was one unexpected comment that stunned the room, resulting in one star being left in tears.

Grooms Chris and Sam saw an immediate spark on their wedding day as they went from strength to strength, even increasing their intimacy. However last week, the cracks started to show as the pair struggled to communicate.
Things erupted even further at the dinner party when Chris attempted to apologise, to which lead Sam was seen laughing as he questioned the apology, frustrating Chris further.
Tonight’s instalment (April 27) saw them face the experts once more as Mel said: “You feel like a very different couple right now, do you want to let us in? Chris, you don’t look very happy.”
After explaining the argument they had, as they struggled to meet on the same page, Mel asked: “Is this the elephant in the room here for the two of you. Does it feel like it would be you making all of the sacrifice?”
Sam admitted he would be “prepared” to move but did not want to “have no say” in the decision. However, Chris said: “My answer to you was coming from a good place.”

Sam admitted he would be “prepared” to move but did not want to “have no say” in the decision. However, Chris said: “My answer to you was coming from a good place.”
Chris said: “I need to put my dad hat on and I would like to leave”, to which a stunned John said: “It’s a huge turnaround since last week.”
Sam was seen in tears as Chris explained he was “not the guy” for him. Sam added: “I didn’t see it coming. I thought this is the first hiccup we’ve had, we’ve both come into this ready to take on feedback… it just hurts you’ve given up because it got tough for a few days. So yeah, I just can’t believe it.”
The decision stunned those in the room as cast members could be heart saying: “No, no, no”, with viewers at home sharing similar thoughts. One person wrote on X: “Chris didn’t even attempt to try and work things out. Damn. Sam deserves a lot better than that.”
Another said: “Well this is awkward.” A third added: “Oh wow one argument and Chris is ready to bounce. Massive red flag!”
A fourth replied: “Seeing him cry over Chris is heartbreaking”, as a fifth added: “Wow! One bad week and Chris already wants to bolt right out of there.”
As the two remain in the experiment for the time being, Chris could be heard telling sam: “I just want to go.”
Married At First Sight Australia airs Monday to Thursday on E4 at 7.30pm
