A Netflix series has been deemed so good viewers are staying up all night to binge it all. It’s had many people totally hooked.

We all need a gripping series to watch sometimes, and Netflix is playing an option that viewers can’t help but binge in one go. If you’re looking for a new TV show to get you hooked, you may want to turn your attention to the Netflix gem, as so many people are raving about it.

It was recently drawn to people’s attention on Reddit when a social media user was looking for a new TV show to watch. When asking for recommendations, one series kept coming up, with many admitting it’s so good, you can’t help but watch it all night long.

This isn’t the only show that’s grabbed people’s attention lately either. Viewers have also been celebrating another drama that’s available to view on the streaming platform.

The social media user wrote: “What Netflix show kept you up all night binge-watching recently? I just finished The Beast in Me in one sitting and realised I haven’t had that ‘just one more episode’ feeling in a while. Now I’m looking for my next obsession.

“What’s the last Netflix show that had you completely hooked? The kind where you tell yourself you’ll watch one episode and suddenly it’s 3am? Looking for something that grabs you from episode one and doesn’t let go.”

One person quickly replied, saying: “The Diplomat. 100%.” Another wrote: “Love this show.”

A third also noted: “Terrific show, so well written.” Meanwhile, in a different thread, someone commented: “Just binged the whole thing, big fan. Absolutely worth it.”

Someone else also chimed in with: “It’s 1am here and I just finished season one. Had to watch season two, episode one as well. It’s very, very good.”

One more also added: “I started on Monday and already on season three. It’s a little wild, but the staff principal relationships are so interesting.”

Many admitted the show is totally gripping, and people can’t help but binge it into the early hours of the morning. According to several viewers, it really is that good.

What is it about?

If you haven’t seen it, The Diplomat is an American political thriller created by Debora Cahn. It first aired on Netflix in 2023, and stars Keri Russell as a veteran US diplomat who is suddenly appointed as the ambassador to the United Kingdom as an emerging international crisis breaks out.

It centres on the story of Kate Wyler, the new US ambassador to the United Kingdom. She is tasked with helping to defuse an international crisis and creating strategic alliances, while also getting used to her new role in the spotlight.

As well as this, she also has to face trying to manage her crumbling marriage to fellow career diplomat Hal Wyler. Since it was first released, the show has been met with much praise.

The Diplomat has been celebrated critically for its writing, pacing and performances. Keri Russell, Rufus Sewell and (beginning in season 2) Allison Janney have been especially noted for their roles.

At the 77th Primetime Emmy Awards in 2025, the series was nominated for Outstanding Drama Series. Not to mention, Russell has previously bagged an Actor Award and has also been nominated for two Primetime Emmy Awards and three Golden Globe Awards.
