ADAM’S PAIN

Adam Thomas cries over David Haye’s I’m A Celeb bullying as he reveals it ‘f***ed with me mentally’ and he’s in therapy

ADAM Thomas has broken down in tears over David Haye’s bullying on I’m A Celebrity South Africa as he reveals it “f***ed with me mentally”.

In scenes that aired last week, David, 45, took aim at Adam, 37, as he called him “useless” in a huge rant in camp

ITV viewers were up in arms as they slammed the boxing champion and labelled him a “bully” for his actions towards his co-star.

Now Adam has opened up about the awful experience during the latest episode of his podcast, At Home With The Thomas Bro’s with his siblings Ryan and Scott.

He expressed: “It brings back so many feelings, yes at the beginning I’m having a good time and it’s all good and great.

“It was an amazing experience, don’t get me wrong and I don’t regret any of it but again, there’s moments in there where I just have a bit of a tough time in there with one of the campmates.”

Love Island star Scott interjected: “Let’s not play this down bro, this was a big moment in your life.

“What happened in that jungle was a big moment and it’s had a massive impact on you.”

Adam continued: “I know for a fact that I’m not the same person as I was when I went into the jungle to when I came out.

“It’s changed me and that’s no over exaggeration. I’m in therapy now because of it.

“It’s f***ed with me mentally because I just thought, ‘how is this happening? I’m a 37-year-old man’ and I’m like, ‘how am I letting some other person do this to me in here?’”

The Waterloo Road actor admitted: “I think in a different environment, on the outside if this happened to you, you’d go ‘oh alright, he doesn’t like me, I’m gonna leave the situation’, but because you’re in an environment like that, there’s nowhere to hide,”

“I said to my therapist, ‘why didn’t I stick up for myself?’ and it was because I was always putting other people’s feelings first before mine because I didn’t want to bring any attention to this.

“If I say anything now, I’m gonna cause drama in camp, I’m gonna dampen everyone’s spirits, I’m gonna cause tension, so I just took it.

“I just took it and took it and took it until eventually it got to a point where I was like, ‘I’m literally at breaking point here.’

“I remember saying to him, ‘I can’t talk to you anymore bro, if you’re not gonna apologise for what you did’, and I reeled off all the things that he did and he knew exactly why he did it.

“I was like, ‘are you not gonna apologise?’ and he was like, ‘I was trying to teach you a lesson’ and I was like, ‘I don’t need a lesson off you bro’.”

The former Emmerdale star went on to reveal that David in fact later apologised and it “meant so much to me”.

He explained that the two ended up having a heart-to-heart, with the sports star explaining why he is the way that he is.

Adam later became overcome with emotion as he revisited his trauma in the South African jungle.

He said: “If I saw that happening to anyone else, I would stick up for them but I just couldn’t do it for myself. I just became like a little kid again.”

It all began when the campmates were trying to decide who should do the next trial on Friday’s episode.

Adam admitted he was feeling unwell and didn’t want to the trial.

“I’d be amazed if you got off your a*** and did something instead of chatting s*** the whole time,” David began ranting.

“That’s what I think would be good, stop whining about dehydration, you ain’t done s*** since you’ve been here.

“You’re sitting up there saying ‘I’m dehydrated’. We’ve all got the same amount of water.”
