The family of a Bury teenager who died after being stabbed in a car park last month have paid tribute to him.
Mohammed Afzal, 19, was known as ‘Isa’ to his loved ones.
He died after police were called to an incident on Market Street just before 9pm on Friday, August 1.
Three people, including one from Oldham, have since been charged with murder.
His family have described Mohammed Isa as being “a most genuine and loving soul” and said that he “always put others before himself.”
In an emotive tribute, they shared: “Mohammed Isa was the heartbeat and soul of our family. He was our precious, beautiful son who had a pure heart.
“He was a most genuine and loving soul with an infectious smile, laughter, charm and aura about him.
“He was always respectful and had kind words to say for all, so many who met him wanted to be friends with him, he was respected by people of all ages and cultures.
“He always put others before himself.
“Our heart is filled with grief and pain, the reality that we will no longer see him or hear his voice on the phone.
“We grieve and pray for the day we will all be reunited as a family together in Jannah.
“The support from family and friends has been truly humbling, with everyone sharing the pain and loss of Mohammed Isa. He was so much to so many people in his short time in this temporary world.
“Mohammed Isa has left his legacy of being a kind, likeable, respectful, and caring young man who was so loved. The amount of people who have reached out to support us has been overwhelming and yet so wonderful at the same time.”

His family have now launched a fundraising campaign to build a mosque in Mohammed Isa’s name to create a lasting legacy, which has reached almost £8,000 to date.
They also thanked Greater Manchester Police for “doing all they can to seek justice” for the family, alongside family, friends, local mosques and the community for their “continuous love, prayers and support”.
The tribute added: “Mohammed Isa may no longer be with us but his love, his kindness, his strength and spirit will forever be with us and guide us.”
Three people have been charged with his murder and remanded into custody before a trial set for February next year.
