Controversial MAFS couple who weren’t matched on show get married for real in stunning ceremony

A CONTROVERSIAL Married At First Sight couple who weren’t matched on show have tied the knot in a stunning ceremony.

Bride Jacqui Burfoot was paired up with Ryan Donnelly in last year’s series of Married At First Sight Australia, but later found love with Clint Rice, who was originally paired with Lauren Hall.

The pair ended up dating after their respective show relationships did not work out, and they announced their engagement one year ago in April 2025.

Fast forward one year and the happy couple have now said “I do” in a beautiful wedding ceremony, despite some viewers of the show not believing they were the real deal.

Taking to Instagram to share a stunning snap from their big day, Jacqui penned: “Mr & Mrs Rice, 20 April 2026.”

In the snap, which was taken at Lake Wakatipu, Jacqui looked stunning in a gorgeous white gown with a long veil trailing behind her.

Clint planted a kiss on Jacqui’s lips as she rested her hand on his chest in the tender moment.

Fans flocked to the comment section to congratulate the happy couple.

One person penned: “Congratulations love birds!!! So glad there’s a few good loves stories that come out of the show!!”

Another added: “Oh my gosh!!! Best news! Congratulations.”

While a third wrote: “Amazing!!! You showed them. Perfect couple with amazing attitude.”

Speaking in an interview with us last year, Jacqui and Clint hinted at what their wedding might be like.

“If I was to have a wedding, or a wedding celebration, or a wedding party of some kind, I want sparklers there, because I think it’d be really cool.

“And I want to pop some champagne.

“I want to have fireworks,” Jacqui told us at the time.

She later added: “If we have a party, we want to have Morena DJ, but we also want to have a jazz band.

“So I’ve kind of said like we could have a jazz band first, and then have Morena [Farina] at a party.

“And we still haven’t decided whether we want to have like a 3 day event where you’ve got a welcome party,

“And then you’ve got the wedding day, and then you’ve got a barbecue post the next day.

“So we’re deciding where the entertainment would be.”
