CBS has been making some big changes to its programming, with The Late Show With Stephen Colbert recently being canceled by the network and it seems others could follow

It looks like Stephen Colbert might not be the only person leaving CBS as a source has claimed the network is undergoing a major overhaul.
The Late Show With Stephen Colbert was canceled by CBS last month, as the network announced the program will be coming to an end in May 2026. They said the cancellation was “purely a financial decision against a challenging backdrop.”
However, a source has now claimed new CBS News President Tom Cibrowski is planning to make changes to the Evening News broadcast. It’s believed Cibrowski is preparing to cut one of the broadcast’s two anchors – John Dickerson or Maurice DuBois.
A source also suggested Cibrowski is planning to axe Evening News executive producer Guy Campanile in the shake-up. They told Radar Online, “Guy thinks he knows better than Tom.”

Sources suggested to the publication the possible cancellations are an attempt by Cibrowski to “secure his position.” The Mirror US has approached CBS for comment.
Dickerson and DuBois aren’t the only CBS hosts who have been hit with cancellation rumors recently. CBS Mornings anchor Gayle King is reportedly facing an uncertain future at the network, with sources alleging her program is struggling to keep viewers engaged.
Recent audience numbers have fallen below two million, while also experiencing significant drops across crucial demographics. Sources told The New York Post some executives at the network are worried the show has leaned too heavily into “woke” content.

The shake-up at CBS has already seen iconic late night host Stephen Colbert have his program canceled. When the news was announced, CBS released a statement which read, “‘THE LATE SHOW with STEPHEN COLBERT’ will end its historic run in May 2026 at the end of the broadcast season.
“We consider Stephen Colbert irreplaceable and will retire the ‘THE LATE SHOW’ franchise at that time. We are proud that Stephen called CBS home. He and the broadcast will be remembered in the pantheon of greats that graced late-night television.”
The statement continued, “This is purely a financial decision against a challenging backdrop in late night. It is not related in any way to the show’s performance, content or other matters happening at Paramount.”
